I went this morning hoping to score 75% off. Christmas decorations were 75% off, but toys seem stuck at 15-30% off.
Is that everywhere, or are our markdowns here just exceptionally slow here?
I am not sure I can make it back until Saturday, but I'll try if I can catch the sale. There is SO MUCH I would have wanted in the clearence section if it were 75% off. At 15-30%, not so much.
(I did drag some stuff over to the scanner, and it was still ringing there are 15-30, so it wasn't just slow tagging)
I went yesterday and did not see too many good deals and the toys were still no more than 30. My big score was a few bags of chocolate goldfish for a buck. Oh, and some half price candy cane lawn ornaments E wanted.
alright, I think I figured it out. Checking other boards, Christmas was marked down to 75% today (or will be anytime for some of you). Toys won't hit 75% off until January 11th or so. I assumed it was the same schedule. My bad.
toys should be 75% in mid january. i'd be surprised if it was the 11th though--that is a Tuesday and toys are usually clearanced on Thursdays.
my store went 75% for xmas today. i dragged the kids out at 7:45 yesterday to find it was still 50%. not fun. thankfully this morning when i did the same it had switched. there was a ton left in my store. i don't care so much for wrapping paper, etc...although i did get a few rolls of those. what i wanted were the red chair cushions, red pillows, the chargers (for under plates) etc that i can use year round. it really amazes me the stuff they clearance out just because it is a "seasonal" color. i also bought a bunch of those stocking stuffers with the insta snow in them. that stuff goes for big money at the educational toy store, but the ones in the stocking stuffer area were clearanced to 74 cents.
also, i found in the towel section kids hooded towels (snowmen and reindeers). they rang up $2.99. oh, and the outdoor flags were still near the picture frames and marked limited time only $4.99, but rang up $2.49 as well. it is definitely worth the walk to check out the other non xmas areas of the store as well!
i think my favorite find today was a little people nativity set. not the one they had out in the toy section a few weeks before xmas. this one was in a cardboard box without a window as if someone bought it online and returned in store. it plays music and lights up. when i scanned it in the aisle it came up item not found so i asked a manager. she was totally clueless and was like "how does $4 sound?" i said $4 sounded great (since it is like $40 online!)

awesome finds!! I am going out in a bit to see what is left. I have three targets about the same distance from me...the only problem is deciding which one to go to. you would be surprised how different they are from eachother.
I'm so jealous! Our Target, and the other 2 in the general vicinity SUCK! Ugh, they are ALWAYS picked over! In fact, the day after Christmas, 90% of their Christmas stuff was gone already. I haven't ventured out again because I've been working, but I wish I could find such good deals!
Glad to be back in the US where I can hit my Target clearance. Hopefully tomorrow!! We were stranded in ND and their Target was at 75% yesterday, but I can't clearance shop with DH present!
