hey!

i'm never sure the best way to track you down, so i'm strting here. :)

i'm starting running today, and i was wondering if you have any tips for managing medifast now that i'm going to be running.

right now my focus is just being able to run the 5k.  and honestly since i haven't run in a while, i probably will only be able to run 75% of it.

so how do you manage the medifast while running?  can i just keep doing the 4+1 like i've been doing or do you think i need another meal for more calories?

any advice you can give me would be appreciated.  you've been my inspiration!!!!

Crap.  I hate Kyle's ergo keyboard. I just typed out a long response and lost if ARGGHH!

I think its a matter of timing your meals.  I eat a bar or half a bar before, and then plan to have another meal (either MF or L&G) not too long after.  Be careful you dont use the running as an excuse to add snacks. Been there, its a slippery slope. So long as you are running less than 4 miles, I do not think you need any extra.  Another option is to have a string cheese as a snack, and then subtract it from your L& G later.

On days you are doing more than 4, you may consider a 4/2 plan.  But, I find that I have more difficulty and there is more room for error with my L & Gs so, I prefer not to do two L&G meals a day.

Hope that helps! I havent been on the wagon very well, but I still use the bars as my pre run snack.
