Anyone else TTC? I thought it would be fun to check in...

Lucas was a TOTAL pill baby surprise so it's a little strange and fun to be trying to have a kid on purpose.

It's been a little over a month since I stopped taking the pill. I've stopped drinking caffeine and having the occasional social smoke (which I know I should have stopped a LONG time ago) We're not stressing about this and just having fun practicing... my only complaint with this whole thing is that without the BCP I am breaking out like a teenage girl. It is HORRIBLE! I'm also taking prenatal vitamins on a pretty regular basis and even drinking OJ (which I HATE) a few times a week.

We were earlier this summer but are on a break.  I realized I have a too-short luteal phase ths time around, so am working on some supplements to try and resolve it.  Not eager in any way to leap to Clomid, so we're hoping this works.  We will revisit TTC around the first of the year.

Kari - I'm so excited for you guys. If we decide to go for a third it is going to be so weird TTC on purpose! Both boys were not planned so I have a feeling it is going to be so weird (and much more complicated) TTC next time. By complicated I mean actually having to discuss it and decide when, etc. Anyway, good luck! So excited for you. :)

I personally like the not trying not preventing method. 5 and I tried for so long with Lucas it just got too stressful and when we decided we were no longer officially trying it was more fun and happened on its own pretty quick.

Kari-GOOD LUCK!!!!

I am keeping fingers crossed that I will join this club next month, but that may or may not happen. Bill said maybe next month, but he is likely to keep saying that every month, lol. (and I hope you are not TTC anymore by then anyway-I hope it happens really fast for you)

I dread TTC, honestly. I have been on so many meds, and the prednisone has messed up my cycles so much that I don't have high hopes of it working. And I would rather just let nature take its course, but we'll see.

I think if we do start trying, we go from whenever we start until maybe January at the latest, then if it isn't working, I might go back on the pill for a while to get my cycles back to regular, then try again in the last summer of next year. And if it doesn't happen before the holidays of next year, we'll give up.

I hope you get a BFP very soon!!!

yeah that is exactly what we are doing. I don't think I could handle all the charting stuff and I would get obsessive over it. I don't want the "practicing" to feel like something we "have to do" and come to hate it!

I can understand where you are coming from.  I have PCOS so I don't have normal cycles. The whole reason I got on BCP when we first got married was to keep me regular and to prevent cysts more than it was a birth control method. If we don't get pregnant for a while I might go back on the pill to try to get my cycles kick started again (certainly will if I start getting any painful cysts)
