I just devoured this book in a day and a half. I was riveted and could not put it down. Excellent, excellent read.

It's about Jackson, MS in the 60's from the point of view of the household help.

I'm listening to this right now. It's totally consuming my life.

I'm even speaking with a southern accent.

;)

LOVE.
LOVE.
LOVE.
LOVE.

I'm going to book another trip away so I can keep listening to it in the car.

Sonya, I listened to it also, and I loved the audio version. Sometimes, I listen to books and think, hmmm, I should have read this one. Not the Help. It was great.

I agree, Erin.

The accents make it for me.

Also, the heat here this week (95+ and steamy) is helping with the listening.

I wonder if they'll make a movie of this book.

I also like listening to the Jack Reacher books better than reading them. I like the readers voice and it suits the character.

Erin, where do you get your audio books?

I'm so lucky that my public library has free digital downloads and it has been amazing for what it has in stock.

But sometimes I want something that isn't available (or isn't available right away).

Totally agree with everyone else - one of the best books I have read in a long time. I have been recommending it to everyone!

Sonya, the film is due for release next year. The woman who played Victoria in Eclipse is going to be Hilly, she is apparently Ron Howards daughter.

btw I loved the book too.

Hey Sonya! I have a monthly subscription to Audible.com I think I pay $19,95 for two books a month. I should check out my library, I never thought to!

I'm going to have to pick this up. Sounds like a great read. I am working all weekend and a good book might help!

I'm having a hard time imagining Allison Janney as Skeeter's mom.
