all of the nicknames she had when she was younger she has started refusing.
we called her 'emmers' for her entire life. 2 weeks ago, we were driving in the car and i called her that and she said, "mom. do not call me that. my name is emily." i said, "we've always called you emmers!" and she said, "i don't like that. call me emily."

Aww. Doesn't she know she's not allowed to have opinions like that until she's a teenager?
I still call Mark "Marky-Mark" which I've always done. Also lots of general nn's like "Sunshine", "Sweetheart", "Sweetie-Pie", "Baby", "Lovey". But mostly "Marky-Mark".
Glen and I both call Henry "Henry D", "Henry the D", or just "the D" pretty regularly. Glen will call him "Big Boy" a lot. (Lots of times I'll accidentally call him "Mark".)
Clara is most often lala. Or lollie-bollie. Or lollie pop. Or princess. She likes to call herself "power girl" a play on word girl. Because the has super powers. Lmao.
Anna-Anna banana (of course-I think it is a given with the name Anna), Anna Nanna, Banana, Punk (short for punkin), lovey
Kate-Katielicious. It is the only one she likes, lol. I used to call her Katykins and sometimes Katie Waity, but she will correct me now if I use anything other than Katielicious, lmao. But lots of times I call her KATHRYN. And it is usually said in all caps, lol.
Back story: Don has a friend who has a show that she does and her character's name is "LuLu LaToosh" so, i would call Ivy that when she was a baby and then it started all kinds of nick-names. "lulu" lulabell" "tooshka" and "tooshka maria" and then it is now turned into "Maria" so, I call her "Maria" alot (so much that I think i should change her name..lol) I sing the song "take a letter maria" and she hates that..lol
oh and a funny story but i took her to the park once when she was really young and i was calling her "tooshka" and these boys (who were probably bosinian) asked me where we were from. I'm like here ;)
Charlie: Charles (when mad), char, Charlie bear (his daycare teacher started this), dude (which I still hate), lots more that my overtired brain can't think of at 5 am
Josie: beast, beastie, Jo, jojo, goosie, goosephine
My almost two yr old nephew calls them chachi and P which we will also use
We use a lot of nicknames on the spot, that's just how we are, but we call her Boo a LOT. Unfortunately, sometimes I drop it as a general term of endearment (because, you know, my town of 600 people in rural Ohio is the ghetto, lol) and when Hannah had an overnight and I called her friend Booboo, Hannah went all crazy. "But that's MY name!!! Don't you LOVE me?!? You called HER Boo, and I'm your Boo!" I try not to use it at the bus stop, but other than that, she probably gets called Boo more than she gets called Hannah, by us and my side of the family anyways.
I call Ethan monkey, monk, baby, although not as much as when he was little.
I still call him E a lot but recently he told me to stop cause it's not his name. I think the dumbfounded look on my face scared him because he quickly said ok that I could call him that but only me.
i mainly call rachel "rach" (pronounced like the first syllable). i call her elizabeth quite a bit too. sometimes rachel-beth. pet names are dolly and lovey, sweetpea, and sweetest. the name rachel is REALLY not conducive to nicknames. it doesnt rhyme with a damn thing.
cara gets called "car" (again, pronounced like the first syllable), or carrie. she often gets called gracie too. otherwise, its peanutbutter, sweetest, sweetpea, dolly, and lovey (like rachel). i usually refer to them simultaneously as dollies, lovies, or peanuts. i call cara "little love" a lot too bc her name means a variation of that. i also call her dumpling quite a bit, bc seriously who can help it.
Hannah is Han, baby, Hannah banana, banana girl, Hannah Leighanna Banana ( her middle name is Leighanne and we rhyme it up lol) and most recent and frequent sissy and it melts my being when Bryson calls her sissy, he rarely calls her Hannah.
Bryson is buddy, chooby, choobster, choobalani, chooby doo, chooba, sweetie boy. We do no variations on his name though my oldest brother likes to call him Bryce which is strange because no one else calls him that. Oh and Hannah will call him brother sometimes.
