Ok. I think I'm finally ready to try it.

I'm thinking about doing 2 weeks and then going from there.

I checked out the variety packs and there are just too many things I won't like in there

So I nEed some recommendations. What's good? What should I avoid? Any guidance regarding what you're using as meals throughout the day?

Tia!

Yay! Are you ready to give up alcohol? It's just for a while, you can do it. Just FYI they're crazy slow with their shipping (depending on where you are) so don't get caught with no food.

Love

peanut butter crunch bar
carmel crunch bar
s'more crunch bar
dutch chocolate shake (get the 55 shakes)
french vanilla shake
chicken noodle soup
chicken rice soup
cinnamon pretzels

Like

chocolate mint crunch bar
chocolate crunch bar
fruit and nut crunch bar
chili - but you have to prepare it just right
(I hear the swiss mocha shake is good)
(hubby likes the cream of tomato soup, I'm not even a fan of regular tomato soup - he also likes the other cream soups)
honey mustard pretzels
brownies
chocolate pudding - frozen is good
maple and brown sugar oatmeal (hated it at first, I sprinkle cinnamon powder on it)

Hate

lemon crunch bar
cinnamon roll crunch bar
strawberry crunch bar
(heard the strawberry, banana and orange shakes aren't worth it)
(heard the crab soup is gross)
cheese puffs - both kinds
scrambled eggs

I haven't tried the pancakes yet. I have them ordered, I'll let you know. I cook ALL my meat and veggies with Pam. I go through tons.

I'll email you my sheet of tips that I've been asked for many times.

tysm kristi!

i'm not ready to give up alcohol, but i am so fat, i have no choice.

i wouldn't order the tomato soup since idl tomatoes, but i love broccoli soup so i might try that one.

my thinking is pancakes/eggs/bar for bfast, shake/bar mid-morning (if i'm home), soup for lunch, bar/shake afternoon and then dinner.

it does look like i could do this at home or on the go, so that's a big plus for me.

tysm for any tips you can share!

(p.s., i'm trying to use this like you suggested - a jumpstart for the first month and then i'll decide whether or not to stay on it)

Good luck. Remind me if I forget to send that email.

I'd really think twice about those eggs.

It's totally easy to do on the go.

I have a bar for breakfast and then make a shake with ice in the blender and put it in a thermos for snack and make soup and put it in a thermos for lunch then pretzels for afternoon snack.

If you're running late you can just have an all bar day.

Oh one more thing about jump starting.

I started at the beginning of Jan and was going to go no later than the last day of Feb.

After the results I got, no way in bloody hell I was giving the diet up on the end of Feb.

I did it until mid May.

I'll be surprised if you can give it up before your final goal.

It's like crack.

thanks kristi!

i totally missed that you had the eggs on your hate list. i will not be ordering those.

i do fine with shakes and bars (on other diets) so i'm thinking i will be doing a lot of that.

how much did you lose the first month?

I lost 20 lbs the first month. The first week is when you lose a lot so the first month always has the highest loss.

You're suppose to eat 5 of their meals and one of your own each day.

My doctor recommended that I only eat 4 of their meals and one of mine.

I'm sure I lost a bit faster because of this.

I didnt know you did a 4-1.

I second the eggs. Not worth it to me. I would carve out a 1/4 of my protein for the day and eat a half cup of egg whites or egg beaters instead.

I often had a vanilla shake, with a cup of coffee blended in.  Just like a frappacino.

I freeze the pudding for a bot (not too long, it gets rock solid) then mush it up for ice cream, or a fudgesicle.

In addition to Kristi's, I liked the hot cocoa, and the chai latte. I also liked the beef stew and cream of broccoli. I always added extra to the soups, like some tomatoes, or mushrooms or broccoli, and just subtracted from my veggies for the day.  Gave the soup a more authentic texture.

The pretzels and puffs (which I like just fine) have more sodium than other choices. I try to limit myself to only one of those a day because of that. I found I retained water/weight when I ate too many of them.

I did it from Feb. 2 through end of May. Then I half assed it for June and July. (didnt lose any - but just used it as meal replacements when busy, etc.) I started at 184 and I have been maintaining between 145-148. Um, I think after last week Im up to 150. IT was a rough week. lol.

Honestly none of my clothes fit and I dont have money to buy more at the moment, so, Im not super motivated to keep losing. It sounds lame huh? Im at my lowest post 20s weight. I look silly in stuff that should be fitted. But, I still was always a thick girl, so I would like to lose another 15.

Expedited shipping is a crock. DONT do it. It takes us West coast/Southwest girls about a week to get our food, though rumor has it the new Dallas shipping facility might speed that up. Just plan ahead. I use Bigcrumbs.com coupled with a coupon. I started with the VIP but quickly changed to ordering on my own. VIP is lame imo, because it sends automatically and you have to remember to update your order, etc. You may have an MF center near you you can buy directly from, there are none in NM. But, YMMV with the center, some people think its a scam, some people are able to drop in and buy packets here and there. Ebay is also good, shipping is much faster.

Wow Erin that is awesome!!!!! Congrats!!!!

Tysm for the bigcrumbs tip. 16% is awesome. My friend Deborah and I are going to do MF together and order together to save shipping etc so this will be even sweeter. I think we should be able to get about 2 weeks worth of food for about $100 each. I think that's not bad!!!

Erin, that's awesome!!  Way to go!!

I think the thing that would piss me off about this diet is the up and down on the scale, lol

Does the weight come back every time you go off the diet?  Because that would make me CRAZY!

kristi has kept of a LOT of weight even though she hasn't been on it 24/7/365.

also, they have a transition plan to get you off their food and onto regular food.  i think if you follow that, you will be ok.

yup, and it's not.

i'm sure shipping is faster but it's generally selling for as much as it does on the medifast site.

i'm guessing it has to do with the fact that the medifast site doesn't ship everywhere (like rox in PR).   plus you have to pay shipping for each item on ebay and through medifast, i can get $300 worth of food for $14 shipping.  it's way higher than that on ebay.
