I took her in yesterday for a recheck of her tubes (she got them in July, 2009) and was pretty surprised to hear: both tubes are out, she has a retracted eardrum and fluid in one ear as well as mild hearing loss. Boo.
She goes in Monday morning at 6:30 to get another set of tubes and her adenoids removed.
oh no that totally stinks. R had the adenoid and tube surgery in june 2009 - it's been my fear that it will have to be redone. i think you'll find a big improvement with the adenoidectomy (dont know if that's the right word - lol). R's hearing has completely been restored (she also had a very mild hearing issue in one ear) and she hasnt had the pressure buildup again, even after the tubes have fallen out. hopefully this time around will do the trick for kate - i think the adenoids have a TON to do with it. i'll be thinking of her!

this is good to read b/c DH is really questioning the necessity of removing the adenoid. I think it needs to be done - anything that will help her. John had 4 sets of tubes (adenoid out with set #2 and tonsils out with set #4) and Kate is so far following medically in his footsteps
Sending prayers. I am so sorry Kate is having such a hard time with this and even though you have been through this before, it doesn't make it any easier. :hugs:
