I joined a gym (finally!) and they have onsite daycare there for kids 3 months and up.

Abby is 6 months now.  I have my fitness assessment tomorrow and am putting her in there for the first time.

I am FREAKING OUT.  FREAKING.

I'm just not sure what is expected of a six month old.  She's not colicky anymore but she is still high maintenance.  They have swings there and pack and plays for the babies, but do they really expect to put her in a swing and she'll just be happily, QUIETLY swinging there for the hour I am gone?

Does anyone have experience with putting babies in this type of situation?

When I put Sarah in most of the time the girls working in there just take turns holding the babies.

If the babies are unhappy in the swing or bouncy, they take them out. It's their job.

At my YMCA they give you a beeper if they need you to come back.

Also, the beauty of it is that you're right there so just go in and check on her whenever you want. Just tell the person who you're working out with that it's your first time leaving her and you're nervous so you might want a couple of breaks to go take a peek.

Don't worry.

when jake was an infant, he was pretty high needs.

i put him in the infant carrier in the snap n go and they often pushed him around the room the entire time i was working out.

in other words, they will meet her needs, i'm sure of it.

:hugs:
