I went looking for some new bras today because mine are starting to disintegrate. I wear a stupid 38A. NO ONE carries this size. Every once in a while, I can find a 36A but that's rare.
For a while, I got those Playtex Thank Goodness It Fits bras because they had many styles in a 38A. We had a Playtex outlet plus Kohl's and some other dept stores carried them. It seems they've discontinued them. Boo!
I asked the saleslady in the lingerie dept at Macy's today if they had any bras in a 38A. She looked at me like I was crazy then said, "No we don't. That's a very rare size." That was helpful.
I bought those band extenders at WM--the 2-clasp kind--thinking I could get a 34A or 36A and just attach one of those. The clasps are the wrong width apart. Apparently larger size bras have clasps that are way farther apart than smaller cup sizes.
I did an online search and did find one site that had several in my size but they were pretty expensive. Also I wanted to get one at an actual store. Today. I need a demi-bra (or one with farther apart straps) to wear with a dress I just got. I wanted to wear it on my trip this weekend.
Even when I lost weight down to my goal weight, my rib cage was still a 38 and my flat chest was still an A cup.
I can't remember, but isn't there something where you can go up a cup size and down a band size or something weird like that? I'm wondering if you could get a different size that would fit. Have you been professionally measured just to make sure that is your actual size? I'm assuming you have but just thought I'd ask.

This is what I was going to suggest. When I was fitted both at VS and Nordstrom's, they alluded to a "sister size"... where you go down a band size and up a cup size.

I dug way down to the bottom depths of my underwear drawer and found a 36B bra. I'm wearing it now but it is definitely too tight around my rib cage. Very uncomfortable. The cups seems to be fitting though. ?? Maybe I could get away with a 38B?
I'll see if I can get to the store (by myself) today.

I would still try on some other 36B bras at the store - you never know. But, a 38B would probably fit really well also.
