My kiddos each have a cheap little water bottle with the sprayer on it and can spend forever outside spraying my plants, the dog, the house.  I'm constantly having to refill them but they are having so much fun!

spending a full month at my inlaws farm while they are at camp (which is only 15 minutes away from the farm!).  I can't wait!  As long as the weather cooperates, pretty much a full month unplugged (only internet access is spotty at the camp, none at the farm), no cable, etc.  Lots of room for the boys to run and explore.  A garden to plant and tend.

and NO students.
wait, even better, NO parents of students.

If I can get my act together, we leave Friday at noon!!

In addition to that though:

*a trip to Storyland- a fun little amusement park designed for little kids, so Koda can ride everything
*a couple of trips to different beaches- we aren't really spend all day at the beach folks, that whole fry to a crisp skin thing, but Koda is into this collecting sea shells phases and has talked all winter about going.
*We just finished out whirlwind trip to Boston, so Check!
*We are buying a super cheap kiddie pool for the farm.  Even though the lake isn't far, we know the boys will love playing with their boats in it when we aren't at the camp.

Some summer goals:
*Koda to learn to ride without training wheels, per his request
*Koda to tie his shoes.  He is super excited to learn how ;)
*Tristen to potty train.  Dang it.  It WILL happen.
*Ten minute table time.  We are going to implement some very simple, very laid back homeschooling into our morning routine.

We actually aren't doing any official camps, swim lessons, etc this summer to my knowledge (unless a rabbit gets pulled out of the hat and we end up moving, then we will enroll them to start meeting people in a new area)

Well, we'll be swimming, and today is the first day of that! Woo-hoo!

Also:

-water balloons
-lots of crafts
-tie-dyeing
-sidewalk chalk
-variety of bubble toys
-backyard easy-set pool (8 ft. around, 30 inches deep)
-fun science experiments

One week both the kids have a half-day camp at the elem. school--Art Camp for Henry, Kindergarten Camp for Mark.

Henry has Music Camp at church for one week.

We have two or three Wild Wednesday activities at church--Cake Decorating and Water Play Day.

Our local theater has a Kids' Film Fest in the summers with discount kids' features on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings; we'll do those when we're available.

My cousin is coming up in June with her son that is close to Hannah's age, so we'll be doing a lot of stuff during that week alone - we'll hit up Newport Aquarium (for anyone anywhere near Cincinnati, it's worth the drive. I love that place) and The Wilds (which is a safari place, where you load up in a bus and drive around, and it's like it's straight out of Africa - they have elephants, zebras, lions, the whole niner.)

We're thinking of going into Indiana this year to some place Joe saw when he was on a business trip. (I had to google, lmao. I thought it was Santa Town, but it's Holiday World. Close enough) and we were wanting to go to Kings Island this year, but they've gotten rid of Nick Jr. land for the kiddos, and switched it to Peanuts themed stuff (because it's apparently 1960.) but Hannah anyways, Hannah has a large fear of Charlie Brown, so Idk if that will happen, lol.

I'd also like to hit up Joe's grandparents summer house, since it's reasonably close, but getting time there without the entire crew of Joe's family is nearly impossible. We still haven't been (ever) ... In fact, we've never been on a vacation with all of us together, lol. Yikes.

We'll probably hit up COSI, and all the small museums around... oh, and we'll be hitting up the local botanical garden to see all the butterflies, because the last two years we've missed it.

Holiday World is just over an hour from me. We are planning to go at some point this summer as well. And it is in Santa Claus, IN so probably why you were thinking Santa Town.

It is a fun, clean and nice little park.

Our caterpillars arrived today.

I was just thinking how ironic it was that I paid money to have bugs shipped to my house.

I'm Psycho Mom whenever a fly gets in the house . . . for free.

A catalog of other available live insects to buy for the house came in the package.

I'm actually considering some other insects.

First we'll see how the caterpillar/butterflies fare.

Most everything we have planned so far is in June. The girls are going to Dutch Wonderland next week-I was supposed to go too, but it is the day after my next Remicade infusion and my mom and dad suggested I stay home. (I don't usually feel very well for the next day or so after the infusions) So I am not real happy about the whole thing-they are staying overnight, so it will be my parents first long drive with them, and their first time in a hotel and neither me nor Bill will be there!!

They have dance class for a couple of weeks-just 3 classes total-but it should be fun. This one includes tap, so I have to find some tap shoes, but I think they will love that!

Then they have swim lessons for 2 weeks in June as well-8 classes total. I am glad of this-they need it.

Otherwise, I imagine we will go to Ocean City at some point in July, as we usually do, but no other vacas planned.

I am going to try and work on things with Anna in particular before school starts. We have some workbooks she loves to do, and things like that-just maybe a brief time in the mornings or afternoons, like Jenn mentioned, to make sure she doesn't forget her numbers or how to write her letters and such.

I have no clue what else. I'm sure we will run through the sprinkler, go to the park and the beach, go to my ILs to swim and/or help with the farm stuff, maybe some crafty stuff-I don't know.

I also want to start them doing more chores this summer. Seems like right now, i am too busy and I just want things to get done. But this summer, I think I will get them involved with things like the dusting, straigtening, sorting laundry, clearing the floor so I can vacuum, wiping counters, etc. Just simple things. But they seem to enjoy helping, so I figure I might as well go with it!
