Target!!

I think I have figured out the love of Target.  I'm addicted!

What I've learned is that you have to go every single week to check out what's on clearance.  A few weeks back I stumbled on jumbo packages of toilet paper for less than $8 - this is tp that is originally $13+ at walmart.  The next week I found double packs of jumbo mouthwash for $3.  I've figured it out that you have to go every week to find great deals because they are there!

I know realize why April fell in love with Target all those years ago!

Love, love target!!  i especially love using coupons there because you can use target coupons on top of manufacturer.  they are very coupon friendly there too.

They are becoming much easier - I used to view them as difficult - their return policy has always been so much stricter than WalMart.

Target mails me those coupon books and the first time I went in there I bought tons of stuff using those coupons and the cashier said "where did you get these?" and acted like they weren't real.  She seemed like she wasn't going to let me use them and I pulled out the mailer that was addressed to me with Target's logo all over it and she chilled out.

target is awesome. the clearance is SO much better than walmart. anyone need galoshes for their kids? the $16.99 ones they had (not in the shoe dept, but with the gardening stuff) just went down to $4.24 a couple days ago i noticed.

you definitely need to go atleast once/week ...even if you don't have time to go down every aisle, atleast check the end caps in every department.

i think as far as couponing goes, it is ymmv. my closest target is great, but another one 20 minutes away is awful--to the point i needed to contact corporate b/c they are so rude. i actually had an employee tell me that he wasn't going to give me things for free just because i had coupons. lmao.  as if i was some sort of shop lifter and he was the vigilante retail employee sabotaging my evil plans;)

also, as far as markdowns go, target has a formula they don't ever seem to deviate from, which makes it easy to stay on top of:

WEEKLY:
Monday: Electronics, Kids clothing and stationary
Tuesday: Domestics, women's clothing, pets and Market
Wednesday: men's clothing, toys, lawn & garden, health and beauty items.
Thursday: House wares, lingerie, sporting goods, shoes, music, DVDs, books and luggage.
Friday: Auto, cosmetics, hardware, and jewelry.

HOLIDAY:
All holidays except Christmas follow the 3-3-2 rule:
The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% off.
The next 3 days are 75% off.
The next 2 days are 90%.
After that it goes to salvage.

Valentines 3-3-2
Easter 3-3-2

4th of July 3-3-2 (since it's always on July 4, the schedule stays the same)
July 5 = 50% off
July 8 = 75% off
July 10 = 90% off

Halloween (since it's always on Oct. 31, the schedule stays the same)
Nov 1st = 50% off
Nov 4th = 75% off
Nov 7th = 90% off

Thanksgiving 3-3-2

For Christmas you really need to go first thing on the 26th to snag the best stuff.

oh, and one last thing and then i promise i am done;) the best, most all encompassing target blog i have ever stumbled across is totallytargetdotcom. awesome awesome awesome.

happy shopping:)

holy crap how could anyone in their right mind not LOVE her?

She's bordering on genius by my calculations.

I want to live with her.  In the very least close to her, in the same state on the same street in the house next door.  i want to spy on her.  i want to see what she buys where and exactly how much she pays for it.  If there were more hours in my day I might consider stalking her!

you guys are too funny:)

oh, and don't forget the twice per year 75% off toy sale. the summer one is typically the last week in july. i usually get 90% of my xmas shopping done then if i remember to go early in the morning that day. even if you don't like early xmas shopping it is a super good time to stock up your prezzie closet (everyone has one of those, right?? lol) with bday and potty prizes!
