Hi, everyone!

Did you ask for anything specific for Mother's Day?

Do you think you'll get it?

If you didn't ask for something, what do you think you'll get?

We're having a pretty good, full weekend.

I finished setting up my garage sale right after work yesterday.

Henry and I went to a youth concert (Joyful Noise Coffeehouse) last night.

Mark was mad that he didn't get to go but it didn't start until 8pm.

The concert usually has a theme--80's, Broadway Musicals, Disney songs--but this year it was a total hodge-podge of different songs.

Some James Taylor, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Beatles, Michael Jackson, a song from Grease, a song from Footloose, "We Will Rock You", that Mighty Jungle song, the Jukebox Blues, and more.

Plus they serve dessert at intermission, and my piece of chocolate cake was scrumptious.

I got up early-ish this morning and went walking, then moved my van so our cars weren't blocking the driveway.

I was so happy to see that my next-door neighbors (on the corner) were also having a sale so I didn't have to post a sign at the street corner.

Henry got up early because he was excited about the sale.

We opened at 7 and then . . .

. . .

. . .

customers started arriving about 9.

One lady practically bought up everything.

She was determined to fit everything in her car so I got Glen outside to take apart some stuff and help her cram it all in there.

We made a grand total of $155.

Waaaaay too much work for that kind of return.

I had suggested to Henry that he sell his silly bands at the sale for 50 cents apiece so he could make some money.

He picked out 100--yes, he has more than 100--to sell and was so disappointed that they didn't all sell.

Only 6 sold.

One lady asked how much for the whole box and was NOT happy when I said $25.

She said she'd just buy them at the store.

Henry would have been livid with me if I'd gone any lower on that price.

Let's see . . . what can I talk to myself about?

Well, I just got my Mothers' Day present.

I got some beautiful purple tulips and a Malco (movie) giftcard.

Woohoo! I asked for a Malco giftcard.

I love movies.

I think I'll give myself another present this evening and sign up for Netflix.

We're going to Kennett tomorrow for Mothers' Day.

Glen's grandmother called to ask if I'd bring cookies so I asked Glen who all was going to be there.

He said, "Just us."

Upon further questioning, "just us" is the 4 of us, his grandparents, his parents, his aunt, his cousin, cousin's wife and son, and his sister and her husband.

You know, just us.

Speaking of Glen's cousin and his family, they bought the house NEXT DOOR to Glen's grandparents.

It's good in a way because Glen's grandparents are elderly and getting feeble so it's nice that they have family right next door.

It's not so good in a way because their little boy is kinda wild and makes Glen's grandparents REALLY tired. And now he can be at their house ALL.THE.TIME.

Well, I took my mom her Mother's Day gift.

A flower arrangement.

I asked Glen to make sure the kids got in the bath while I was there.

He said, "Don't stay there long. I need to go get a [lottery] ticket."

So I talk to my mom and dad for 0.5 seconds to rush back home so he can go get his ticket, and guess how many of my kids were in the bath.

That's right.

Zero.

And I'm too tired to bother with them.

So they're going to bed without baths tonight.

Hello.

A looooong time ago I asked for that necklace that Leah posted about. The one that has your initial, kids' names, anniversary year, etc. No, I didn't get it.

I did get two nice black frames with 8x10 pics of the boys. Super cute. (But I sort of feel like that is the easy way out. It doesn't take much though IMO.) I'm also annoyed because Doug always does this right before a holiday for me..."I screwed up. Your (insert birthday, mother's day, etc.) is going to ruined. I just didn't get what I wanted to do to work out, blah blah blah." I finally told him yesterday to quit ruining it by saying he is going to ruin it. I mean, really? I don't know what the OG plan was so don't spoil what you are doing for me by saying that crap.

I think I'm just irritated because I really really really wanted that necklace. Oh well. As long as the actual day is good then I am fine.

Robin - I am so on the fence about a yard sale. I want to do one but I'd honestly rather donate it and write it off on our taxes. I know how much effort will go into prep and no guarantee on the return.

We did the race for the cure this morning - 5k. Gavin did so great! My Dad came to pick us up so we didn't have to park and apparently my mom signed up for the 1 mile one thinking that I would do that since I had Gavin. Well, she was in for a surprise since we did the 5k. It took much longer than if I had done it without them (my mom is kind of slow too) but we stopped to use the bathroom, then stopped to walk a little ways to go to the store and buy some water and Gavin a donut. But it was super fun. I think we will make it a tradition.

Had lunch at Red Robin right after per my mom's request. Turned it into her mother's day gift so I didn't have to worry about shopping for her for tomorrow.

Then I came home and promptly fell asleep. 4 or 5 hours later (!!!) I woke up. I don't remember what time I actually fell asleep and I can't believe I slept that long. I can tell Doug is irritated but that is his problem for not waking me up. He knows I can sleep for hours when I take naps.

I had a hellacious week - emotionally exhausting crap at work - and I am training for a second (part time) job so I was really really tired.

I didn't ask for anything. I will prolly get what I usually get for everything. Nothing. But we're broke anyway, so...Steve is on nights again, like last year, so I assume it will be the same as last year. I'll get up wth Andrew and Steve will get up in the afternoon.

I did vow that I will not clean the bathrooms this year. Last year I ended up scrubbing the toilets on both Mother's Day and my birthday, which is the end of May. Im not doing that this year. I did toilets yesterday.

This week Andrew has seen some commercials about Mother's Day. He wants to get me Sherries Berries and FTD Roses. I told him I would love for him to make me a card and we could dip strawberries at home. He then got upset because I didn't want "his" presents.

Andrew and I did have a mostly good day together today, so I'm counting that as my Mothers Day. We got up early, went to town and did the Lowe's craft. It was a small flower box with a trellis. The top says Happy Mother's Day. They even gave $10 off a $50 purchase coupon. It's good until June, so maybe I can use it later.

We then went to Country Waffles. We'd ever been there, but IHOP was overflowing with people, and I'd see a sign on the drive that said "Ham and Eggs $2.99 7 Days". I figured I'd have that. Maybe share a waffle with Andrew and he'd get a kids meal. When we got in, they said the $2.99 was Mon-Fri. Well, the sign says 7 Days, so I figured it meant 7 days a week, and that would include Sat, but whatever... They did have fresh squeezed oj that was fabulous. I would have gotten a 2nd glass, but the waitress didn't come back after dropping off our food. But, since I was having a good day, wasn't going to let that get to me either.

Andrew ate 3 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon, full serving of hashbrowns, 2 eggs, a glass of milk, 1/4 of a waffle and some bites of ham! I couldn't believe it. Must be on a growth spurt.

YGG on the 5K!

I'm trying so hard to get motivated to start running.

I desperately need to get my weight down.

And count me as JEALOUS that you got a good nap.

I think that's a good plan--NOT scrubbing toilets on your special day.

I hope you have a day even better than you're anticipating.

I SO hear you on the cleaning. I did the boys' room (for some reason that room bothers me a LOT when it is a mess) and am working on mine. Will do our bathroom tonight too. I will be annoyed if it is a mess tomorrow but even more annoyed if I have to clean it tomorrow so I might as well do it today.

Did you ask for anything specific for Mother's Day?

To sleep in in the morning.

Do you think you'll get it?

Lol. I doubt it. We were gone all day today, and I had to leave early in the morning, so when I got home, Joe still had the marks on his face he gets when he sleeps, so I'm not holding out a lot of hope that he'll go to bed anytime reasonable tonight. I'm crazy into holidays (What? No way! I know... shocking) so I don't think he really understands how crushing it is that he doesn't care about them the same way. blah blah Love Languages blah blah totally different blah blah, lol. It is what it is.

If you didn't ask for something, what do you think you'll get?

He's been doing laundry since before I got home... if he'd fold it and put it away, he'd be out of the doghouse, lol.
