DH's birthday is next Tuesday and with the help of a dear friend I am planning a small, vow renewal ceremony at our church that evening. He has no idea.
Of course our pastor says I will need some scripture lessons to read.
Clueless beyond the Corinthians "Love is patient, love is kind."
So for you veteran Christians out there, could you please, please, please help a newbie in a rush? I need some beautiful scripture on marriage, etc. I can't recall exactly what Bible our church uses but I read from the NIV if that's any help.
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Song of Solomon 8:6
"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'[a] 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.'[c] So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark 10:6-9 6
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
I could hug you, woman! I might just drive over and hug you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!
And Nicole, thanks!
Its driving him crazy not knowing. He knows I'm up to something but he thinks its a surprise party. LOL He is trying to get every one to tell him but they all know mums the word.
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

I love that Song of Solomon one!
Jennie, the rest of that one says:
"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If one offered for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly scorned". Isn't that beautiful!
