I am super excited. Did we decide on the weekend of October 16/17? I thought that is what we were thinking but wanted to make sure. I can't wait. I will be meeting up with family and friends to celebrate my 30th birthday but will also be making sure to get to some of the MS meetups. I can't wait!
I punched it into Expedia for Friday and Saturday night and here are the averages right now.
Excalibur - $69 Mirage - $164 MGM - $135 Monte Carlo - $125 (That could be interesting, isn't that fairly new?) Bellagio - $239 New York New York - $150 Encore - $172 (great price)
I'm supposed to be a no on this trip, but I have a feeling I may be able to go so I'm not discounting it yet. Those dates would work with me if I get to go and I will be happy to stay anywhere.
Kristi, the Monte Carlo isn't new. I only know that because that's where my old boss (tee hee, that sounds so weird to say) had me book him every year for the last 10 years or so. He liked it because the casino isn't the focal point and you don't have to go through it to get to your room. I told him he would love trump towers.

I can. We used to stay there quite a bit in the 90s (LOL) for the exact reasons Chickie mentioned.
The pool is actually really fun.
It's also cool because it's linked to Mandalay Bay and Bellagio via that sky tram thingie.
The downside is that it's getting kind of old. But I'd imagine it's still good.

Of those hotels Kristi has listed the only other one I know anything about the pool is New York New York. Their pool really sucks. It's very small and the way it faces it loses any good sunlight by between 4pm and 5pm and it doesn't get good sunlight until close to noon. It may even close at 5pm every day. I know it closes really early.
Remember to that if we are going in the middle of October it may be too cool to go to the pool. It will be hit or miss. One year the MS groups went in the beginning of November and it was def too cool for pool time.
If you look at the websites for those other hotels you should probably be able to find pool info on them.
