My girls love dancing-they love their ballet classes!!! And it is a HOOT to watch Anna especially. She loves to dance, but I think we are going to have to encourage sports, lol. Kate is actually a bit more graceful.
Me? I don't dance. I used to enjoy it when I was young and just out in the party scene, but I am not a dancer!!!
This morning, I'm going to a flooring place to pick out carpet for the kids' hallway and some kind of flooring for their bathroom.
I got an estimate last week.
I want the whole bathroom floor to be the same instead of half marble, half carpet.
The guy was super-reasonable about the price of the bathroom floor but my mom just called to say that she wouldn't pull up the existing floor if she were me.
I guess she doesn't understand the grossness of toilet overflow in carpet.
Really I wouldn't mind just having marble installed in the carpet half but the estimate guy said that it wouldn't be a good idea to lay it beside the other with the crack down the middle.
Speaking of dancing, I was really annoyed with Mark yesterday after preschool.
He said, "Mama, today Spanish class was so BORING. We were supposed to dance but me and Cole don't like dancing so we just pulled our shirts up over our faces."
I CANNOT believe that he is acting like that at age 4. At school.
He got a lecture about doing what his teacher tells him. Plus I told Cole's mom. [I work with her.]
He said he didn't get in trouble but he SHOULD HAVE.
My mom took my kids today. i wasn't sure if she was going to be able to take Kate because last night at like 11pm, Kate started hacking and coughing. Ugh. She actually started sounding a bit croupy.
But I gave her some of this natural type cough medicine that is also supposed to shorten the duration of colds if you give it right away, and rubbed her down with Vicks and she slept pretty well after that. She was coughing a little this morning, but otherwise was fine. I gave her another dose of the medicine this morning.
Did you know that I never really believed that vicks on the feet thing, but then my acupuncturist told me there is a point on the ball of your foot-if you scrunch your toes, it will be on the ball of your foot where things wrinkle between the big and second toe. Anyway, she said putting vicks on that point actually would help with coughing and congestion. Little did I know!

??
I figured he knew what he was doing.
IDK what your floor looks like, but are you trying to match the two halves or are you starting over and getting all new floor for the entire bathroom?
If you are leaving some of the existing floor, I can see where the guy would say it wouldn't look right-but if you are ripping up the whole thing and getting all new floor, why would it make a difference?
Robin, I adore springtime too-the sunshine and warmth just makes me so happy!!!!
I think we need a winter vacation house somewhere in the south. I am tired of dealing with winters. Though maybe I feel that way because this one was particularly yucky-too much cold and snow, and too much sickness this year!

Robin, I am laughing at Mark!!! I know I shouldn't, but I think it is so funny how honest they are-I mean, he knows he should have gotten in trouble and he tells you. That is too funny to me. Anna is the same way and I think it is great.
But I definitely would have been annoyed if my kids were acting that way at school.

It doesn't really make a difference; my mom is thinking how much trouble it would be to lift out our toilet but the flooring guy didn't seem to think it would be a problem.
Seriously, he quoted $75 (yes $75) for the whole bathroom floor. It was added to a quote for getting carpet in another place in my house but he said the bathroom part would only be $75.
Doesn't sound like it would be that much trouble to me. Otherwise, wouldn't it cost more?
I have an empty house, which is lovely. I need to take a shower. Then I would like to do some cleaning, but honestly, I still have energy issues, so I am not sure how much I would actually get done.
I am also making spaghetti sauce today. It is using italian sausage, which I HATE. But we have all of this sausage in the freezer that is getting old and needs to be used up. My mom made meatballs, so she brought some of those to me so me and the girls can eat those. Then I will give her some of the sauce with the sausage for my dad because he and Bill love that stuff. It will take a few hours to simmer, so I will probably start it after lunch.
Not much else on my agenda today. I have to remember to shave today because I have my yearly tomorrow.

kwim?
That is cheap!! It isn't that big of a deal to move the toilet and reset it-it is a LOT easier to do that than try and do flooring around the toilet. You just can't use that bathroom while it is being done, of course, but it isn't a big deal at all.
I would replace the entire floor as well-do you know how the floor has held up underneath of the carpet? When we did our upstairs bathrooms, we had to put in new subfloor as well because things had rotted out a bit. Still not a big deal, and the subfloor wasn't too expensive or anything, but it needed to be done. Now the floors in the bathrooms are completely solid.
Last night Anna had ballet. Kate was in a different class, but hers was only 6 weeks and the second session was full, so she is done. Kate's was at 5:30 on Mondays and Anna's (which is 12 weeks and is a recital class) is at 6:15 on Mondays, so they were back to back at the same location.
Anyway, last night was the first class of the second session of the class Kate WAS taking. So when her teacher saw us for Anna's class, she told me that if I wanted, I could bring Kate for the second session and just not tell the director, but that she didn't mind having Kate in the class as well. So how awesome is that? Free ballet class! I thought that was SO nice of her to offer that.
Here is the thing. Kate loves the class, but it didn't seem to bother her not to go, and it was SOOOOOO much easier just having the one class. Before, we were always rushing on Monday nights, I had to pack them dinners to take with us, etc. Last night was much nicer on me. But I know that Kate really likes the class, and it was super nice of the teacher to offer.
So I am not sure what I should do. Take the teacher up on it? Or just stick with the current plan?
I think ranch and Caesar are my fave dressings. Actually, I make a caesar dressing that is my fave, but I love store bought ranch. I have not made a ranch I thought was better than store bought.
I like Hidden Valley. I know we have had discussions about ranch before, but it will always be my fave.
The caesar though (am I spelling that right? IHNI) is way better homemade. It is yum.
Not so good for the weight loss though. I try to use oil and vinegar more often.
My ankles and feet are swollen. Not as much as my face and neck though!! OMG, I look ridiculous.
I think I could start tapering off of the pred now, but I haven't cleared that with my doc. If the antibiotic doesn't mess things up with the UC in the next few days, I might call him and ask if I can start tapering. I would love love love to be able to get off of this stuff.
My girls like to dance and ds likes to tease them and try to grab them while they dance. Actually, my girls LOVE to dance. They do it all the time, not just at ballet class.
I like to belly dance but I don't know how to do any other dancing. I would love to learn ballet but don't have the time for anything but videos right now and I don't have any ballet videos for adults.
