I admit it.  I watch the train wreck.  I am not even sure why because I start yelling at the TV.

Anyone watching the new season?  Thoughts?

(I watch the episodes online on mtv.com, so far there has only been one this season)

I caught an episode but I don't know if it's the new season. Is it the girl who loves going to the beach and her boyfriend doesn't see the baby after he is born?

It totally sucked me in and I find myself feeling the same way as you. I just CANNOT believe that they feel SO entitled to leave their baby with grandma and go out at night. I know why they feel that way, and I know why they want to do it but the entitlement KILLS me! I cringe when I think about then/the baby looking back and watching these shows.

Yeah, that was the first episode of the new season.  And I agree with everything you said.

And it makes me sad that they don't consider adoption. They will scream "this is MY baby!" and then walk off to party. I don't get it. I can't watch these shows anymore. My sister is most likely never going to get pregnant and would be such a great mom and to see these shows just kills me.

The new season started Feb. 16 so there is only one so far.  It was Jenelle from NC who loves the beach, etc etc. The one who doesn't seem to want to take care of her baby but when confronted does take care of her baby just has her "me time" ha ha. Yeah.

I caught it on rerun last night because I fell asleep Tuesday night. Grr. I wanted so bad to reach through and smack her. She's on the other side of the state- so tempting.

I looked at DH and said, "I wonder how many of these girls thought it was cool to go on and get pregnant just so they could be on MTV after the first season aired?"

I think this season is going to be filled with craziness.

I watched last season and had a mix of emotions depending on the couples (loved Caitlynn and Tyler, all through their struggle with adoption until they admitted to having unprotected sex again - how stupid can you be?... and loved Maci, and thought her situation with her boyfriend partying and acting like nothing changed was realistic to how most of the girls I knew that had pregnancies young were.

But, I couldn't believe the girl this week. She is right up there with Ferrah from last season for me - ita with Juni, the entitlement is crazy.

I watched it online too. I don't know...these girls are only 16 years old. Think how hard it was for us (in our 20s and 30s and married) to take care of a newborn. they have no life maturity skills, no husband to support them, etc. from experience, it is really difficult to be a teen mom. no one really tells you or if they do, you brush it off, how your life will change DRASTICALLY. I think that 16 is exceptionally young to be a single parent. The girl in the first episode needs all the help she can get and I think she is doing the responsible thing by asking for help from her mom b/c she knows that she can not care for that baby by herself. i think, as a society, we like to "punish" girls for having sex instead of providing support, etc. Just my 2 cents ;)

fwiw, i did not like the girl either. In addition, I felt her behaviour was predicatable, but not acceptable. Also, they needed to stop referring to the baby as an 'it" (that really turned me off)
