Has anyone had to go back for another one because the tech got limited views the first time? I had mine at 17 weeks 5 days (doesn't that seem early?) on feb 8. Yesterday a girl called and said I went too early and had to have it re done on the 24th. I just called back to ask why I was sceduled so early to begin with and the nurse told me that the tech got limited views of the nose, lips, and heart. Of course now I am a wreck thinking they think something is wrong and they just haven't told me.
I would have been called back for Josie because they didn't get enough shots of the right things but because I have a cleft palate, I had them bring in the actual dr/head tech person to verify that they had all the right shots to check for that. She found missing shots or redid a bunch of them.
I'm sure it's just normal stuff (most likely covering their asses).
Corey I'm sure they just have to double check. I really think they should of just waited for the 20 week mark.
With Faith I got stressed over U/S since later in the pregnancy they kept telling me she wasn't growing and I had to have 3 extra U/S. Every time I got in there and the tech always said she looked just fine. And yes my little girl that "Wasn't growing" for the last 2-3 mths of my pregnancy ended up 7 Lb 4oz. 20 3/4 in. Not small to me.
I got called back again when I had a normal ultrasound at 8wks then 12 weeks I think!, then I got called back in after the 12 week scan and I was worried something was wrong. Well, I went back, they found 2 cords instead of 3 (umblicial cord) so they were telling me stuff like he might not grow as much as a normal baby should, etc etc... they had me on my toes till BIRTH! He came out NORMAL sized!! normal weight and normal reflexes. Ultrasound these days are VERY sensitive and pick up more than old days. My friend Liz who is an sonographer, told me that as well. So sometimes it's a fluke.... I have had a total of 3 flukes with Van. One time, they thought they saw white spots or whatever it is in his stomach, then 2 cords instead of 3 (that one was for sure), and then they said his bottom half was smaller than the top half (but it was only because of his position because when he was born, he was perfect in size and length!)
I swear ultrasounds give us a peace of mind but then again they can be nerve wrecking!!
I had to go back with Kate. They didn't get a good view of the bottom of her spine, if memory serves. It was NO BIG DEAL. Just went back in, they got the pics they needed and all was good.
That does seem a little on the early side-try not to worry!!!
Oooo-does this mean you might change your mind about finding out the gender??
This is intervention so you can redecide about team green!
I'm absolutely positive that everything is fine and it was just too early. Try not to stress. (I know, easier said than done.)
Yes to the red! Corey can you have them look between the legs and text me?
On the more serious note of your worry, I think I had to have another with Hannah too. I'm sure things are ok, try not to worry, i'll be thinking about you and praying for another perfect ultrasound.
And the answer to the all pressing question of pink or blue
Thanks everyone! I have definitely calmed down since this morning and am really hoping it was just too early.
The entire time during my other one, the tech was stressing we might go into her lunch break :bitch so she may have rushed through anyways.
Re. Team green- I am so convinced it is a boy anyways I feel like I don't even need them to tell me. I had definite feelings both other times and was right and this time I don't sense any pink. I will be floored if I'm wrong!
I had to do it w/ Adelaide! She was in such a wonky position that the tech couldn't see a certain part of her heart, kidneys, and spine quite right so I had to go back a month later when she was a bit bigger and had less room, as the tech said, for better shots!
You have such strength and conviction for not finding out the gender! It amazes me how patient a woman could be to hold off for 9 months!!

I had to go back twice for Ethan. They couldn't get a good view of his heart and because it was such an important organ, they wanted to be thorough. But everything was fine. And I got lots of great pictures of Ethan in my belly.
I agree with everyone else. No worries, just another chance to find out the gender (or at least have them write it down on a card for you, so you can peek later!)
We had several ultrasounds with Ellie because they couldn't see all the views of the heart. There was never anything wrong, but they wanted to get better looks. Ellerie was stubborn, though---she never gave them a clear view, no matter how they tried!
