There is a wonderful school of the arts (magnet school) that is K-8 right by us. I decided to apply and we will find out next month. It is a lottery based acceptance thing so I am just telling myself we won't be accepted.
I toured it with Gavin and LOVED it. It would be a perfect fit for him! They have more of an emphasis on languages, instruments, drama, art, etc. and it would be right up his alley!
Good luck! That sounds just wonderful. Charlie would love something like that.
I was skeptical but with Gavin's personality I wanted to check it out. He is totally into drawing and shows a lot of interest in other languages and music. I toured the school and just got a great feeling! And seeing Gavin's reaction was so fun! It seemed really nice. It's not nice in the flashy sense like it's super new or anything - I just felt really comfortable there. I talked to one of the Kindergarten teachers too and got a good vibe. I'm telling myself not to get excited because we probably won't get in but I'm really hoping we do.
It sounds wonderful! His development with music and some of the other arts should also help him develop strong skills in areas outside of art like math. I hope he is in and you find out soon. :crossing fingers:
