I did get a job offer from the company I have interviewing with since October.
They wanted me to start Feb 22 but we are in the middle of a project with my current client that goes until March 3rd so they have agreed to let me start March 15. I'm so glad. I'm trying to get my current client to use me with the new company so I don't want to burn any bridges.
My current company was "shocked" i was leaving and wanted a chance to counter offer. Suddenly I was the most valuable employee and I couldn't be lost. Too bad they didn't make that clearer in the 5 years I've been with them - insert eyeroll guy here. Plus, we've gone from a team of 40 people in the last 5 years to a team of 7.
We are owned by big telecom company and no matter what we want to do, the telecom has total say. The director wasn't able to really get me anything (an extra 2%). It wasn't much of a counter offer so I'm going.
I think it is a good decision. Really, it's the last thing I need - my life is in enough chaos right now with a house and an apartment and everything else but it's should be a good decision.
I was also wondering how this turned out. Sounds like you are making the right decision, even if it causes some additional craziness in the transition. Hopefully some of your clients will move with you. Definitely keep us updated when you start with the new company.
