i promise there are no health alerts in this post :)

we're expected to get 12 inches.
schools were closed in advance (R has no school tomorrow, AND my college closed even their night classes for tomorrow night, which is why i'm on MS tonight and not writing a lecture) :)

i'm psyched, i love a good february storm.

wow, you closed before it is even there? Is it snowing there yet?

We have had snow all day. It started at 10:30 and has been falling. I would say we only have about 5 inches now. They changed the amount from 12 inches to 5-9.

I think we will have school tomorrow, unless the roads are bad in the morning.

I am crossing fingers for a snow day though. I have yet to have one.

Sucks ass, here. Not as bad as Philly is expecting to get, as I'm hearing from some GFs. The worst is just about over (knock on wood), accumulation wise.

Tonight and tomorrow the winds are fierce. That's way worse than the snow we got. We'll end up getting pounded with about 9 inches (that's what she said.) on top of the huge snowfall over the weekend that was barely starting to get cleaned up.

We'll be going into our 3rd snow day in a row. It's okay for me though, we're having a crap ton of fun.

I better be able to leave my house safely this weekend.

Finally melting and disappearing. Woo-hoo!

We had a "surprise" snow Sunday night, so I was REALLY surprised when our phone rang at 5:30 am with an automated message about school being cancelled.

I think we got about 3 inches. Also it snowed big, beautiful flakes on and off throughout Monday. That is so rare around here. Glen and the kids made a great snowman.

Schools were closed again today but the roads were pretty much completely clear. I guess some rural bus routes still had ice.

Mother's Day Out (where I work) is cancelled whenever school is cancelled, and we have to make up those days on Wednesdays. We've had 4 snow days so far; it seems like I'll be working Wednesdays FOREVER. Blech. Wednesday morning is my only morning that Mark is in preschool, and I'm not at work.

Tired of snow.

Now to figure out how to take Allie out to play w/ Mia.

We got about a foot Monday and Tuesday. Now everything is clean and white again! Around here we need way more snow than that for school to be cancelled. Growing up I remember one snow day. We got 2 feet of snow in a 12 hour period.

Our schools announced closing at around 3:00 yesterday afternoon - that was the earliest they have EVER closed in advance of a storm. And my company in NYC actually closed its doors for the day as well! In the 15 years I have worked there, this is only the second time the company has closed (and the first was due to 9/11). When that happens, you can bet it is going to be bad.

It's been snowing steadily here since about 4:00 this morning, we probably have about 3 inches on the ground. But we have just been issued a blizzard warning for the rest of the afternoon into tonight, so the worst is yet to come.

Like Supa, I am totally done with winter. I love a day off from work, don't get me wrong, but not when I am cooped up in the house with 3 bored kids!

I think the blizzard warning is for NYC and Long Island, due to the possibility of high coastal winds.  Fun, fun, fun.

yeah my sister (in jersey right over the bridge) was saying the same - i think LI is going to pick up most of our winds.  our area is "a lot of fluffy snow" - love it.

We are getting pounded right now. Total white-out. At this point, I am wondering if there is going to be school tomorrow.

I am not sure how much we have gotten because it is blowing around so much. At least 6" or so so far, IHNI how long it will last.

They already called school off through Friday here. Bill hasn't gone in to the office at all this week-the federal gov't is shut down. Things are basically at a stand still here right now.

We are watching movies. I hate that, but I can't do much else, and Bill has to stay in the basement and work. AF just started to add insult to injury for me, and just making breakfast this morning had me light headed and in need of a nap!!!

It is pretty when it sticks to the trees, but this sucks.

AAAHHH!!  It's craziness out there.  I'd say we have about 9-10" but I don't know how much more we're still supposed to get.

I'm so thankful, though, that we didn't end up getting hit last weekend as well.    I have no idea how Supa and April have dealt with being inside so much.  I have cabin fever and it's only been 24 hours!  Having Meghan home all day is tough right now since I can't really do very much right now.  Luckily Mike is home today b/c I've put myself on bedrest in hopes of keeping this baby comfy and in utero. LOL

I'm hoping this stops before midnight so the roads can get cleared just in case my parents need to rush out here.

Laura and April- around how much, total, do you guys have now?  I have a co-worker in Virginia and he said he got 32" this weekend and then 10" in this last storm.  Craziness!
