I have a friend (we went to university together) and she had a baby a week ago who needed to have heart surgery. I don't know all the details (they knew she'd need this surgery before her birth).
She had her surgery today and here's her status: wants everyone to know that Aurora tolerated surgery quite well today. She is back in the PICU so, as the surgeon says, "the mechanical part" of her recovery is complete. She will have to make it through the "biological" part of recovery over the next few days. The next 48 hours are the most critical but so far so good.
Can you say a prayer or send out some positive thoughts for baby Aurora?
update status: is crossing her fingers and hoping that Aurora keeps up the good work. More than 24 hours post-op she is stable and progressing quite well. If she continues like this it is possible the doctors will close her chest as early as Friday. Thanks to everyone for all the positive thoughts and prayers.
