We are so close to Haiti that some areas here felt the earthquake and we can relate to what they are feeling. There are many people trap in buildings, no rescue plans, no food, water or shelter.
THere is a man living here that had his family there and he just got into a helicopter because he just needed information. Their house was the only one that didn't collapse in the area. Is a miracle that his family is fine. Only his mother have minor injuries.
I'm sure that they need all our prayers. I think many countries will help them I just pray that they all get the help on time and that those that lost family members get comfort and peace.
My heart breaks for all the people affected. I can't help but watch all the videos posted on CNN and the situation is just awful. Makes me want to hug my kids a little tighter tonight.
I am very selfish because I can no longer watch or read the coverage. It hurts me too much to feel helpless. I know that is the easy way out, but I have to.
I was watching the news of a local couple in Michigan who were adopting a little boy there. It was heart wrenching to watch them. They eventually found out that he is alive, but now they do not know if they will be able to continue the adoptions because the paper work is destroyed.
