so, i want to show my seniors the kenneth branagh version of hamlet starting tuesday.
i was just going to go pick it up at blockbuster.
well, apparently, this dvd is no where to be found.
i really don't want to shell out the money to buy it, so i was thinking that maybe there's a way to download it and burn it to a dvd to play at school?
yeah, since i'm going to show it at school, i would prefer the legal method (although i know lots of teachers who show bootlegs).
what about itunes? i'm embarrassingly inept with itunes, but it is giving me an option to download the movie to buy for $9.99 or rent for $2.99. what happens after i do that? can i watch it on my computer? can i burn it to dvd? if i put it on my iphone is there a way for me to show it to the class at school?
seriously, i'm an idiot when it comes to my iphone and itunes.

I have no clue about that! I don't use itunes at all.
You can rent it on itunes for $2.99 or buy it for $9.99. You can copy it to your iphone if you buy it and then if there's a way to hook your iphone into the tv monitor at school maybe you could show it.
You'd have to ask the AV people about that.
I don't know if you can load it to your phone if you've only rented it but you should be able to google and find out easily.
I just tried to burn one of my movies to a disk from itunes and it said that burning is disabled for this track.
Have you tried Netflix? You could sign up for a free trial. If you did it today it should be there in time.
You can burn DVD's if you download them from iTunes, but you need a program to unlock the copywrite. I use Mac the Rippler, but I think it's Handbrake for PC's.

stacey - if i sign up today, i'd need the video tomorrow to show it tuesday. that's too fast, right?
kristi - i was hoping you'd chime in. what if i put it on my phone, connected it to my itunes at school - could then i put it on my itunes at school and show it from my laptop?

Probably too fast for Netflix.
Do you have a projector or Smart Board in your room? Easiest would be to rent it or buy it with your iTunes at school. I'm not sure your iTunes will suck the movie off your iPhone.

Yikes, that sounds really technical. Can you load it to your iphone and then hook it to your laptop and play it through that?
You know.....I'm pretty sure you can have your itunes acct. linked to more than one computer so if it isn't already linked to your laptop then try that.
Then at school, assuming you can get internet, you should be able to log into itunes and watch a rented movie.
I think there will be some download time so be aware of that.
