Have you done much in terms of studying the whole concept of changing the brain?
I was interested in a few things and I read that one study where they had 12 people who were told they would go to Kenya and that they actually through thoughts changed their sinus cavity to be ready for the heat in Kenya.

wow i'm totally popular - football party at my house tonight! woot woot! we can discuss neuroscience and crocheting!
i do know a bit about neuroplasticity and brain rewiring, and have read some cases of severed corpus collosum (the part that connects the hemispheres) and how the brain rewires to accomodate...i've also read some studies of hemispherectomies and how the brain accomodates. anything else on neuroplasticity i've learned has been just about normal wiring and rewiring - critical periods for learning certain things bc that's when brain is most plastic, etc. i havent heard about the kenya thing - this looks like a great book - might pick it up. thanks!

I am finding it all very interesting. I was just reading about neurons being able to regrow and before they said they could not. It is very interesting stuff.

Let me know what you think of it.
the topic of neuroplasticity has a ton of interesting areas of research - infant and child development, gerontology stuff, skills training in mentally ill populations, etc. it's definitely a great area to read about. have fun.
