Not a dayum thing.

We've got a shizton of different family drama going on, so I'm laying low. I need to clean, and I would like to get motivated to run. In fact, I may go do that now before I completely lose the desire. Maybe I can run (or ya know, walk semi-quick while I gasp for air) some of my aggression out.

we're blizzarded in. it's lovely!!!

I was dreading today because we have to go out to the house to get it ready for our tenents (clean the kitchen out, figure out what we need from the attic and basement, get the pump primed again).

but now we get to stay home and relax.

I'm cooking a pot roast in my new dutch oven and relaxing.

the kids are playing in the attic now while I play online. This room is such a godsend. so much junk and it isn't all over the house. because we don't play up here often right now, everything is new and exciting.

have i mentioned how happy I am we took this apartment?

Working. bored.gif

I'm so tired. The chooby has been getting up every night/very early morning for the past 3 days. This morning he was screaming terribly at 0400. Like the kind of scream where you know something is really wrong. I flew up out of bed and when I went in there he was on his tummy with his foot all twisted and stuck between the crib slats cry I don't think he was hurt but he was terrified. Crying and shaking and all sweaty. I know he hadn't been crying long because it was the kind of cry you cannot sleep through. I held him forever to calm him down but I don't think he ever really went back to sleep. Kent gave him motrin at 5 because I also think he's cutting molars but it was not a fun morning. Now I have work for 10 more hours. Sigh.

Tomorrow is my island day off and i'm ready! This week has dragged. At least I got holiday pay yesterday!

gm Leah. Sorry about the drama, no fun. If I lived near you we could run and gasp for air together! It's on my list of things to do this year.

I heart not a thing. I haven't had a day like that in what seems like forever.

I am drinking a chai tea latte from Starbucks which helps.

I am not looking forward to Hannah's break being over and her going back to school Monday. We've all been sleeping in so late. Back to getting up at 0715 to get to school does not sound fun.

Sonya i'm jealous of your blizzard. When your unblizzarded if you end up in Target or anywhere similar like that would you keep an eye out for a pet shop for me? It's the purple ant :D

Turns out to run you need athletic sneakers. lmao. Oops. You'd think that's something that would occur to someone who has taken an active interest in running. Probably not the best idea for me to run in ballet flats. Oh well, I'll stay motivated and start running after Joe gets paid. Does anyone have a recommendation for good running shoes?

I did the couch to 5k program for a few weeks, but the shoes that I had were no bueno. Not that I expect my feet to feel like I just got back from the spa when I'm 70 lbs overweight and running, but it'd be great if I didn't feel like crawling in a hole and dying.

Good morning!

I will probably go grocery shopping today.  We have lots of food, but it's mostly left over holiday food (like candy, cookies, cheese spread).  I might sneak over to Target too.  I need some creamer and with their coupon I think I can get it for .57.

Yep, I am too exciting. giggle.gif

I just picked up some running shoes at Kohl's last year. I think they are ok, could probably do better. What is the couch to 5K program?

Sorry you had a rough morning. smile.gif Those suck.

I would love run with you, though. (I laugh to myself everytime I think of myself running. It's a hysterical concept to me.)

I'm determined to figure it out this year and become a runner. I'm pretty tired of being fat. It's pretty lame.

I am by no means the greatest one to give advice, but if you think you are mostly fast walking to start, you might be better off with a walking type of shoe.  Just a thought.  Since I belong to the chubby girl club and have a wide flat foot, I would have to go pay out mucho dinero for shoes to actually run.  I think it's great that you are starting this.  Let me know how this goes.  I thought I would try doing this with my dog, but my dog is not exactly leash cooperative. Maybe I can learn from you and get myself started.

http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

Essentially, it's a program that starts with lots of brisk walking, with tiny spurts of running, and gradually increases the running and minimizing the walking, getting you up to running 5k in (I think) 8 weeks.

Sonya, it sounds like you are set for a great day.  I think it's awesome that you have a room for your kids to play.  I so wish our house was designed so that we had one.

Amber I hope your little guy is doing better now.  Having to get up early stinks!
