we are looking for a black entry table to go in our foyer. this is the best pic i have right now - i can take another if it would help.
we'd like to put a table below that framed pic (even if it means raising that).
the trouble is that section of wall is only 33" wide or so. so the table can't be big.
i'm leaning toward something half-round, but we're open-minded as long as it is contemporary. we're not into anything antique-y or scrolled or anything along those lines.
here are a couple of things that i've seen but i don't love any of it. and those i DO like are too big. also, a drawer and/or shelf below would be awesome for decorative & storage purposes.
I really like the ones you already posted. I also found this, oddly enough of all places at Walmart, which has some nice clean lines. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5156117
I love that first one that you posted... but for the price compared, I have to give the :sonya to the Walmart one - which is nicer than anything I found for a decent price when searching... I love that it's nice and clean, but that you aren't out a ton of money if it gets dinged from the kids running around until they get a little older.

alicia, i really like that one, too, but again it's too wide! the narrow wall right there is part of the trick.

April...I really like the first one you posted. I also found this one at JC Penny. If you look at the reviews, someone posted a pic of it in their house. Or what about a pedestal table?
Not overly helpful as it's sold out, but do you like the looks of this one http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Ebony-Finish-Hall-Accent-Table/4244572/product.html
It's the right width.

i saw that one on overstock and i DO like it. sad it's sold out. :(
the meijer one is a style i like, but i think that "merlot" means it's like a mahogany color, right? i'm trying to go with black b/c all of our frames hanging in the entryway are black, so i think the furniture should be black too - especially b/c that multi-opening frame in the pic i shared in the OP will hang right above it and is black.
thanks for all the help everyone! i'm leaning toward that one i shared from walmart until i can find something better quality. keep the suggestions coming if you see one!

liz, i saw that one at jcp and debated it for a second. the overall feel of the piece is not quite right in our house. leah actually said it perfectly last night on fb - we're sort of a clean-lines taste in our house and i think that table is too asian inspired or something? idk.
and i also debated a round pedestal table, but with the small size of the little nook where the table will go, i feel like the table really needs to "fit" there, kwim?
Have you checked Bed, Bath and Beyond? I think our style is a lot like yours and we found some nice, random pieces there for our house that we really liked.
So far, I'm really feeling the rounded tables over anything more squared off... I just think for such a small space it really gives it a little punch. So I'm voting for the 3 shelved one from walmart atm... It doesn't totally knock my socks off or anything, but I think it has the potential to really be fabulous in the space with the right things on the shelves (although here, it would be a no-go because I would just junk it up with crap on all the levels, lol.)
