he will stay in the hospital for at least a few days. they are doing an echocardiogram today, and they have him started on cumadin.
they are not surprised - he had a hole in the upper chambers of his heart for 50 years, causing a big enlargement of one chamber which never went back to normal size - this leads to blood not being efficiently pumped and pooling still in one of the chambers.
doctors are talking cath and stent - the last one was in 2005 and at that time there was an additional blockage they did not want to stent at that time because it was too risky, so they are again looking at that and we will know more in the next day.
times like this i would love to be on a plane over there - although if i did that chances are i would be giving birth over the atlantic LOL! but once i get this 4th one popped out i can think about getting over there if need be.
thanks all for your positive thoughts - its been a real tough 15 months with my mom losing both parents, we don't need any more problems at the moment. i am hoping the new year would start off great and she and my dad can spend some quality time and heal the pain - guess this is another small hurdle to get over first.
