My neighbors are hosting a New Year's party--everyone is bringing appetizer/snack type foods.

Any ideas? I'm clueless.

I think I'm going to make one of the spinach and artichoke dips, which I didn't have a chance to make on Christmas, but I want to bring at least one other thing.

My favorite easy one is tostitos nacho cheese dip mixed with turkey chili with beans.

Heat in the microwave for 4 or 5 minutes and serve with baked tostitos scoops.

one of my favs is easy and yum

pepperidge pastry sheets (frozen - 2 in a box)
Brie Wheel

This is the nice part. You can put anything you want on top. I do onions and butter with mushrooms(you can do fruit, etc.) I sautee then and then put on top of brie. The brie is placed on the pastry sheet in the middle first and then add the onions and that. Take the ends and bunch up on top. Kind of make it look like a draw string sack. '

Then bake on 370 for 20 min or so. The pastry should be golden brown.

It is so good. People eat it up everytime I make it. I just put a little knife and crackers out with it.

Another one is with the pastry dough also.It is a pizzza.

Pepperidge farm pastry sheets
Creme fraiche
Chicken (grilled chicken and then cut into cubes - you can cheat and buy the ones in the bag that are all ready grilled and in strips)
Yellow pepper rings
black olives

Then just bake in the oven till the pastry dough cooks. I then cut into single serve pieces for serving on a platter. It is very yum.

My favorite two quick and easy appetizers are party bread (which is just ground beef and/or sausage and velveeta on rye appetizer bread) or hot buffalo chicken dip (which I think someone.. maybe Juni? posted here, but I just use equal parts ranch and hot sauce or buffalo wing sauce, a block of cream cheese and a handful or two of cheddar cheese, and chicken)... Super yummy, and always big hits!

one that is always a huge hit are ciabatta breads that i make sandwiches  and then slice the filled ciabatta loaf into slices about 1.5 inches thick to make mini sandwiches.  (a toothpick at the top of each slice will help keep the fillings together)

two of the most popular are:

roast beef with roasted onions and basel-mayo:

the thai flavours in this chicken salad really take it up a notch - i use a rotissery chicken for the pieces, and despite the recipe instructions i just fill a ciabatta bread, close, then slice into 1.5 inch strips:

My two favorites are tortilla roll ups and layered mexican dip.

I also like those grape jelly meatballs that Dorian posted one time!
