i'm making good progress here. considering i was in the middle of grading finals and everything, it's been an insane week. here's what's left:
one more batch of cookies CLEAN THIS HOUSE, seriously top to bottom pick up some aluminum storage containers for leftovers to send home with fam. i need another cookie tin. babysitter gift (just a check, easy). hand in grades (this morning). go to other job tomorrow and finish up all my stats section for this paper. MAYBE one more gift for mike?! cant think of anything. make appetizers/pick up lasagna and antipasta. lug of serving stuff from basement, whcih is still down there from when we did the kitchen. letters to santa. finish cara's doll. i wanted to try these other ADORABLE dolls for the stockings, but wont have time http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=37239126&ref=sr_list_2&&ga_search_query=amigurumi+dolls&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
and i think that's it. actually a lot. shoot. how are you guys??
ok, this will help me figure out what I have left. I am in the avoidance stage right now :)
Wrap all gifts Grocery shop - 2 desserts & side dish (still not sure what I am doing) Buy something to wear for the holiday(any ideas?) Make cookies w/Allie Clean, clean and clean
Wow, not so bad after all. I must be forgetting something big.
I'm in good shape actually, but that's when I usually start thinking of more stuff I could do to make it extra special and drive myself insane.
I have to: clean buy food (shrimp and cheese) for Christmas Eve Wrap EJ's gifts Give Ethan's teachers their gifts (have in the house) Still debating buying gifts for a couple of coworkers Still debating getting something small for my neighbor's nephews, who may be coming on Christmas. 11 and 13 year old boys--I have no idea. Make cheesecake Make eggplant
I'm off on Christmas Eve so I'm sending Ethan to school in the am and plan to do most of this stuff then.
I need to put a second coat of paint on something for the kids. That's why I got a babysitter for this morning. I put the first coat on it last night.
I also need to go buy more Scotch tape.
I have a couple things to wrap for Glen.
I almost forgot that Glen's aunt asked me to bring rolls for Christmas dinner at her house so I'll need to make those on Thursday or Friday morning.
Speaking of Christmas dinner at her house, I need to find out what time we're supposed to be there on Christmas day.
I need frames for what I got my mom for Christmas. I found a bunch of old frames in a drawer yesterday, but the 3 small ones were all 4x6, and I needed 5x7. Also, there was an 8x10 one which would have been perfect but I didn't realize it had no glass in it. It had an old picture of Glen and myself in it, and I guess it never had glass or someone broke it and didn't tell me. ??
Since we're celebrating Christmas with my parents today, I need those frames asap.
pick up clara's christmas dress at the drycleaners (its ready tomorrow and it matches her american girl doll xmas dress she will open xmas eve)
ice the second (huge) batch of sugar cutouts - my 13yo son eats them by the dozen :eyeroll
pick up the fresh veggie produce and the order at the butchers tomorrow afternoon (need that last minute as we are preparing huge meals for 4 days in a row - the 24th-27th)
i am contemplating whether to wrap the stocking stuffers - most of the time i dont, but since everything else is already wrapped and done, i might just do it.
bertrand is doing the cooking - YIPPEE! i am making a few desserts, but those will be done fresh... and thank goodness for adelaide - the house is in top-top shape and she is just finishing up polishing the copper cookware as i speak.
We got a generous surprise gift from Travis's half sister (they aren't really that close. He didn't know about her until adulthood.). We now feel very obligated to send her children something, so we will need to get on that asap.
~still need socks. Apparently, we aren't the only ones to replace socks at christmas. I'll try target next, Walmart has been wiped out. ~cake mix. I'm not making it from scratch, lol! ~gift for the inlaws. We agreed no gifts for adults, but they went ahead and got one anyway. So, I need something for them. ~gift for the other inlaw. Same as above. ~tuperware container for under the couch for more toy storage. ~relabel all our existing storage to match what I just re-organized ~Clean (clean clean) ~Pray the stupid turkey will thaw in time.
Get few stocking stuffers(will do during lunch) Get gift card for niece & aunt(will do during lunch too) Bake cookies with M2(Wednesday night) Exchange gift for DH at target( I was going to do this at lunch, but I forgot it at home) Get some C batteries( I have all others, but realized last night I needed c) RELAX & ENJOY!!!!
I have all my wrapping done(unless I buy something else lol!) My house is clean(which wouldn't really matter anyway, since we don't have anyone over!)
I totally feel like I'm forgetting something, because I'm NEVER EVER done this early. Normally I'm still shopping on Christmas eve and do ALL my wrapping that night.
Oh we do have to put together a couple of things we got for M2. We will do that on Christmas eve after he goes to sleep!
