those of you on facebook know, but he has the chicken pox.
today since mid-morning has just been awful! he is absolutely miserable and crying or screaming at me or john most of the time. he has only napped for one hour today and i can see sores in his mouth now. his body is covered in them. i just wish i could take all his pain away.
i expected it to get worse as his doctor told me he would start feeling worse before he felt better and that 48-72 hrs after the first spots appear is when they start getting really bad. i noticed his first spots on thursday morning so we are right in that time frame.
Sending prayers for Keegan to be over the chicken pox soon and for his discomfort to cease. Sara, I am so sorry he is miserable and have no doubt it breaks your heart. Prayers being sent to help you through too.
How heartbreaking :( I'm so sorry it's so bad for him right now. I am praying that he starts feeling better. I hope your holding up ok Sara, you guys sure have had a lot of sickness over there this winter. Hang in there.
aw, poor little thing. i hope he's feeling better soon - i remember when my niece had it as a baby and it was AWFUL. :(
ty ladies
kelly, had she had the vaccine?
keegan got vaccinated at 12 months and once vaccinated his doctor said 95%+ kids will not ever get the chicken pox and if they do it will be a mild case of like 20 spots or less.
He said keegan had the worst case he had seen in a few years and the child he saw last with them that bad was an 11 month old so he had not even received the vaccine yet.
his nurse had actually never seen them on a child so wanted to check them out and then 3 ladies came over at the check out desk to check him out asking me if he had been vaccinated, talking about how it is rare and they do not see that hardly at all anymore.
i guess great that it is really proving effective for most children except of course my keegan who needed to set the bar high over achieving in the chicken pox department.
Poor little man!! CP sucks. I had them in my 20's so they're fresh in my memory. That aveeno bath was soothing but for the most part you just have to suck it up. I think I'd rather do that myself though then watch one of my kids go through it. Lots of hugs from AZ.
