Please tell me if Im wrong here.

There is a girl at my church who got married about a year ago or so despite even her mother telling her not to. Anyway after they got married she was living with her inlaws. They dont even have a car. I knew they were trying to move out and were struggling so I gave them my bouncer (shes due in Feb).

Last night she came to me and said your husband has something for you. I thought ok a christmas card, a thank you card for the bouncer or something. No it was her baby shower invite. OK no biggie but to be like umm yeah your hubby has my invite was a little weird.

I figured Id given them the bouncer but Id get something small for her or whatnot.

I go to look at her registry and shes registered at Target  Walmart and BRU. NBD.

ON babies r us alone she has registerd for 4 different cribs and 2 of each of them at that. I understnad registering for price points but pick the crib you want and stick with that. And then I know they are struggling but it seems shes registering to have a whole set of baby crap at her moms for babysitting purposes. she registered for 3 high chairs (2 of each of them) 4 excersaucers (2 of each)  etc etc etc. I cant even fathom asking for that much stuff. LIke 3 different travel systems and then separate carseats even though those come with one.

I dnot even want to go at this point. Am I wrong here. Ok sorry I just wanted to vent.

The only thing I thought of is that when I registered I put a bunch of the same items on based on reviews on line and then went in store and printed out my registry and looked at the ones in person, kwim? Of course, I did that way before anybody else got to see the registry but maybe (hopefully, lol) that is part of it. But yeah, if not that is weird. Pick one crib and leave it on there.

As far as having duplicates to keep at different houses, maybe annoying, but I do understand that. I don't know if it's a no-no to do that on the registry but that wouldn't bother me so much as having four different cribs, etc. But I am hoping it is just because she hasn't figured it out and will weed some out. I don't know. Definitely weird.

Jen, I think I would understand the extra set a little more if I wasnt already irritated about the 4 cribs that was just at bru by the way she registered for one at wm too.

My only hope is that she doesn't understand that a registry is a list of what you want, not a variety of all the kinds you like if that makes sense.

Ugh. Registries like that make me reach for the inexpensive baby wash and rubber ducky and call it a day.

I am thinking she does not realize she has 4 on there. I do not know why one would waste getting other things that she needs. It really does not make sense. I am thinking she registered for the ones she liked best and maybe she will drop one depending on if someone buys it for her.

Does she have family in the area? If not maybe that is why she did it for her Mother to see what she is picking?

I personally would not be upset or care less. To me what is more weird is she just said your husband has something for you. You would think she would say I have your husband the baby shower invite.

Why on earth would you need to register for 8 cribs? Wowzers! The only thing is that maybe she made a mistake when scanning? That happens?

I hate, hate, hate registries. I had one but picked only the essential items that we needed.

There as a baby shower I was going to and EVERYTHING on that girl's registry wasn't under a $100. I looked at DH and was like, "We can't afford a damn thing on here." So I went to Ross and bought her a $4 baby outfit and called it a day. Thank you.

maybe she wants a more expensive one, but will be happy if someone gets the cheaper one?  so, register for a few and hope she gets one.  i have no idea, but i'm certain that her reason is not to end up with 8 cribs, so i wouldn't be annoyed.
