Where do you download music?

i have a GIGANTIC music library because (totally lucked out) - mike and all his work friends (and i mean a LOT of people) pooled together and uploaded ALL their CDs and wahtever they had from itunes and put it on an external hard drive. i have everything you can think of. if there's something not on that hard drive, i just get it from itunes.

my son's MP3 players is LOADED with music from there. One of the reasons I didn't want to get him an Ipod touch - he will now have to pay b/w .99-1.29 per song!! And he left that MP3 player in his pants pocket a few weeks ago and it got washed and now won't work!!! So, he's musicless - we can't put any of that music on the Itouch after he gets it for x-mas cry

An mp3 will go onto an ipod or touch, but an mp4 will not, so yes you are right. You can't go from itunes download to a regular mp3 without converting, but you can go from mp3 to ipod.

An mp3 will go onto an ipod or touch, but an mp4 will not, so yes you are right. You can't go from itunes download to a regular mp3 without converting, but you can go from mp3 to ipod.

are you telling me I can download music from legalsounds.com and put it on my Itouch?

you should be able to.

I just have to move it from the folder on my computer and then go to itunes and click add folder to get it to my itunes library then sync it.

somebody at work told me when I bought my Itouch that you HAD to purchase all music from Itunes so that is what I've been doing. I haven't bought too much so it's not that big of a deal but Little John has purchased over 200 songs for his MP3 player through legalsounds that I thought we could not get onto his Itouch we're giving him for x-mas!!

this happened a few weeks ago here too...the one time i didnt check pants pockets and i fiind a shuffle in the dryer...ooops

my teen son gets all his music free from youtube downloads.

just get a good quality music video and use on of the many apps out there, such as:

I buy very few songs from itunes now...esp since they are 1.29 a song. Just import them into Itunes and synch them to your Itouch.

Thanks Kris!!! I had set up an account on legalsounds for my nephew for Christmas last year since he was getting an MP3 player. I think you're the one who recommended the site then also. He never used the money I put in there. Since I finally moved into this century and got an MP3 player over the weekend, I'm just going to use his account and get him something else. Obviously he's not going to use it. Everytime I asked him he said he didn't know how to do it.

I signed up yesterday at legalsounds and yay!!! for cheap music. They all go right into my iTunes so I'm good to go. So far I've only gotten the free songs and the Phineas and Ferb soundtrack. The kids were so excited. $2.34 well spend!

now I need to figure out how to get them directly into my itunes account.

my DS1 is going to be so excited - he's under the impression he has to rebuy his music from Itunes (b/c that is what I thought and what I told him). I'm not telling him any different - he will be soooo stoked to have all his music on his Ipod on x-mas morning!!!!!

Okay, so here is my question about these "cheap" download sites...are they legal? I see that Legalsounds is actually a Russian site. Are there any international copyright laws being "overlooked" here? Just curious, since you have to provide a credit card number.

I don't know the answer to this question but I do not use a credit card. I bought John a visa giftcard and uploaded that into his account.

Kate is the one that told me about the site . . . .
