Help again re dollhouse!

I know we (I) have posted this topic to death, but what dollhouse does your 05 girl have?

The wooden ones that some got last year (laura).....what was that one again and how is it holding up?  it came with furniture right?

The pbk one is on sale right now, and I am tempted to just buy it...but should I look around some more?

I think Laura has the Melissa and Doug one.

Are you only looking for Wood.

Allie has the Fisher Price Loving Family Grand Doll house and loves it.
I think with house and all furniture it was like 175, but that was a ton of stuff.

This is the one Hannah has... it's 3 seperate pieces - a mansion, condo, and apartment (I think) pushed together to make one big place. (The mansion section is more than big enough... but I was obsessed and didn't really realize it's size at the time) but we absolutely adore it.

I was thinking of getting her this one.  It is at Toys R Us and comes with all the furniture, etc.  How much room does it take up?

It is actually not bad at all. I looked at a lot of them and many of the big wood ones were too much. She loves this one and plays with it still a year later. She still wants the dang Caring corners talking one though, lol.

I just looked at it on amazon...it is priced at $144 which would be a really good price.  I might just go ahead an order that.  (we have the my first dollhouse, but she is getting bored with that one).  I just love the wooden ones....oh I am soooo undecided!

Liz, we do have the M&D one. It has held up fine, but Anna finds it boring. She really only plays with it when she has friends over who show interest in it. I think because it is very plain, even the furniture is plain. The ones at PBK, she will play with for HOURS, but hers is just not as exciting for her.

We are going to keep it for now because we don't have room for anything bigger, but when we eventually move, it will go and we will get a Barbie sized dollhouse.

I'd spend a little more and get one of the others suggested here, tbh.

i got both of these as gifts: http://www.landofnod.com/family.aspx?c=3148&f=3910 and http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/westport-dollhouse/?pkey=dgirls-toys

they like them. neither comes with furniture. my kids tend to take all the dolls and furniture out and just set up scenarios on the kitchen table or whatever.  both were gifts - i LOVE the look of both, but i think if i were in the market for a dollhouse right now, i'd go loving family.

I was at pbk last night and I just love the westport - but then I have to ask myself is this for me or her...lol

i think i am probably going to go with the loving family too.  we can add on to it later and such.  she really loves the fisher price one now...but it is so small.

okay....thaks Laura!  I was worried that she might find some of those m&d ones a little plain too.  I am putting off on the barbie one right now since she is not that into them right now, but i did tell her about mine when i was a little girl and she got so excited ;)

ug tell me about it.  i swear, i'm like in my second childhood over here -- they're getting to the age now that i'm starting to relate more to the toys...this is why i'm like a lunatic with the american girl stuff - my kids love the dolls, but i'm like, pushing R to get julie for her bday bc i secretly cant wait to braid her hair :eyeroll

i'm terrible.

Liz, we bought Elizabeth a doll house from Toys R Us.  It's wood, but obviously don't know how long it will last.  Our thought was that this doll house could be used for her calico critters and barbies as well.  We didn't want to turn around and buy another doll house in a year or so and thought this one would span a longer time.  It's also really not a bad price.  I like that it has stairs.  Mine never had stairs and it always bugged me. giggle.gif
