Does your 4yo nap still?

Every day?  Sporadically?  For how long?

Mason still naps, and I am in no hurry for that to end, LOL.  He naps pretty much every day, and usually for about 2-3 hours.  On days he goes to school in the morning, his naps are almost always 3 hours.  Suh-weet!

He typically goes bed at 8:30-9ish and wakes up by 6. doh.gif

Allison napped for 2-3 hours up till the end of summer. She no longer will nap at all :(

Mia is a shitty napper too, boo.

I would totally do naps still if Allie would allow for it. I do make her rest on the weekend. At school they have to rest for 45 at least and sometimes she will sleep, but it is hit or miss.

Allie goes to bed between 7:30-8:00 and is up by 7.

Hannah doesn't nap, and hasn't for a (very) long time.

But, she goes to bed between 7-8 pm, and sleeps until 8-8:30, so I can't complain, lol. (Well, sometimes I do, but I shouldn't.)

nope. he hasn't napped since he was probably 2.5---and since grace wants to be just like connor, she hasn't napped since he stopped...she will nod off in the car if we are doing errands, but will not actually take a nap and hasn't for probably a year or more.

Not usually. Never during the week. Sometimes on the weekends but only usually when he is sick or we don't mind him staying up late with us. :)

Owen OTOH is still going strong. He is a grump without a nap so he naps everyday anywhere from 1.5 - 2.5 hours.

Alison - I am SO jealous that Mason still naps and goes to bed at a decent time. Well, I would be more jealous if I was a SAHM and could actually enjoy that but ykwim. That's awesome!

Charlie naps at daycare - every day for an hour I think?

when he's home on the weekend, it seems he'll nap for one of the days but not both. If he does nap, its a good long one and Josie normally wakes him up.

He is down by 8 and gets up between 6 and 7 every morning.

Mason was still napping about 50% of the days until he started school.  They do a short quiet time but that is it, and he doesn't nap there.  So, since starting school he hasn't been napping at all anymore.  Booooo.  He sleeps much better though, so I can't complain.  He used to still wake up a few times per night, but since starting school, he sleeps all night (except he normally wakes early morning to pee and goes back to sleep).  He goes to bed at 7:30 and gets up around 7:30.

Owen no longer naps. He gave up naps Sept/Oct of 2008 (Bryce gave them up right around the same age).

He is in bed by 7:45 and sleeps until 7 or 7:30.

Don't be too jealous - didn't you see, he wakes up BY 6?  ;)  This morning he woke up at 4.  4!  And wouldn't go back to sleep.  And the thing is, when he doesn't nap, he still goes to bed and wakes up at the same time.  So getting 9 hours of sleep a night is just not enough for him.  Oh, and when Evelyn hears him on the monitor, she wakes up and wants to play.  Boooo.

Anna still naps, which should be no surprise. She has always needed plenty of sleep.

I would say she sleeps about 50% of the time-but they are both in their rooms from about 1-3pm everyday regardless. Kate naps more often than Anna does, but she isn't 100% of the time either. Anna's wake up time rarely changes (7-7:30), so her need for a nap depends mostly on her bedtime the night before, and if she had a nap the day before. So if she has no nap, she crashes come bedtime and sleeps hard from 8-7:30, and often she won't nap the following day as a result. But if she wakes up when Bill is getting ready to go (at about 6:30), she will need a nap, even if she dozes back off after he leaves. On days she naps, she doesn't fall asleep until at least 9pm, thus perpetuating the nap schedule, kwim? It all depends, but I can usually tell if she needs a nap or not on any given day.

Kate is similar, but she will sleep in more if she gets to bed late-Anna rarely sleeps past her regular wake up time.

I will require Anna to have quiet time in her room for at least an hour until she is in K. We ALL need some time apart, myself included. And she can play quietly in her room for an hour-it gives her a break and a chance to calm down (she gets VERY wound up), and it gives me a little breathing room as well. She is actually very good about staying in her room and playing quietly. Kate isn't-she gets bored with it and just comes downstairs to tell me she is done, lol. Then I usually march her back up (if it has only been like 20 minutes or something) and tell her I will come get her when it has been long enough. She hates it, but she knows if she doesn't listen, I will take her teddy from her.

Anna naps less on school days. While it seems to wear other kids out, it seems to energize her. I really don't care much anymore if they actually sleep (except on days like today when I know we will be out late and I don't want meltdowns during Thanksgiving dinner), just so long as we all get a little bit of quiet time apart.

No. She hasn't napped for about a year now. It ended at a good time when preschool started.

Jake has almost entirely given them up and I'm hating it.  He is such a mess in the early evenings.  I think he still needs them.  He goes to bed around 8:30 and gets up around 7:00.  Kate still is a good napper - usually around 2 hours every day.  I do put both kids down at the same time in the hopes Jake will eventually doze off - most times he does not but I make him lay down and rest anyway.

Daniel gets an hour nap at school...right before school releases.  Most days the hour seems fine, but others days he needs more but doesnt get it at home.

RARELY he will nap at home unless he doesnt feel well. Yesterday though he took a 2 hour nap before the in laws got here, I think he only napped because I made him lay down with Don.

Raven goes to bed at 8 and gets up at 6:30. She doesn't nap but there are times when she falls asleep in the van. Especially Tuesday which is her first day of school for the week. Raven was napping regularly until she started afternoon preschool sept of last year.

SG hasn't napped for over a year.

She gets up on school days at 6:45, goes to bed at 8:00.

She gets up when Presley gets up on the days she doesn't have school, but on the weekends they sleep until about 7:30 or 8:00

No napping for Mark. He will only nap if I have to take him to work with me at Mothers' Day Out--which is almost never. Then he ALWAYS falls asleep when the other kids lie down for naps. They don't nap at his preschool. Every once in a blue moon, he'll fall asleep in the car but only if we're driving a loooong time.

Ditto to this.

I cannot remember the last time Charlie slept during the day....

I long for those days back....

Nolan still naps for 1 to 2 hours per day

The only way I see cutting it out would be putting him to bed earlier or having him sleep later

he goes to bed at 8am and gets up around 6:30am

I would push for a longer sleep time, but he has to get up at 6:30 so I can take him to my moms, and if he went to bed any earlier than 8pm I wouldn't get to hardly spend any time with him.

Sometimes on the weekends I skip his nap because we are too busy doing stuff, but he's a freakazoid by the time the evenings come.

I wish he would sleep until 8am on the weekends.  lol!  that would be so awesome.

No naps here. Natalie gave it up right around her birthday in July. She usually gets up at 7:45 and goes to bed at 8:45. There were a few cranky weeks, but now she is perfectly fine without it.
