in north american and western europe. - moving over towards eastern europe now.
i posted a link at the end of october where it predicted the peak would hit that week - and apparently it has with cases on the decline since october 27. of course it is not over yet, but this is still good news.
also the article has stated that so far there have been less than 7,000 deaths worldwide from h1n1. considering that the flu kills about 220,000 people in any given year, i am not really seeing the connection that there are more deaths from h1n1 - granted this is hitting young/sick/preggos more than the usual elderly victims, perhaps that makes it more
interesting they have found a drug-resistant strain. freaking over-medicating!!! 9 kids had it in mason's class so far, and only one of them was given tamiflu because he got pretty bad.
thanks for the info. i figured we must be heading out of peak by now, bc we're about to hit regular flu season now, right? (but who would even know since no one was being systematically tested for h1n1...that's where i STILL get confused!!)
In my 10 year experience in a school I have never seen a flu rip through like this one does. I am not sure why or if it will just go away or as it mutates have less power, but it has been insane watching the kids drop.
