Tonight is our holiday parade of lights/santa claus parade.
The kids are really excited. They've been doing this parade now for 14 years. I worked on the committee for the first parade so it's exciting to see that it is still around after all this time.
Last year, we stayed in a hotel which was really fun but we live just a few minutes away this year.
gm sonya that parade sounds super fun! you're making me want to move to your city. healthcare & parades .. what more can you ask for??
i am taking caroline to a 1st birthday party this afternoon.
tomorrow i'm going to the city with my mom, my sister & my mom's bff & her daughters. it's an annual tradition and i can not wait. i neeeeeed some time away from the kids. NEED.
Dishes washed bathroom cleaned showered kids painted (what, you don't paint your kids? lmao - i mean the kids painted pictures) two loads of clothes washed - one on line, one about to be on line compost dumped
You've been busy, Sonya! I just got up a little bit ago.
If all goes well (no sickies, etc), this will be the boys' last weekend here.
We're hoping to hit the children's museum this morning.
This afternoon I've arranged a play date at a park with their classmates, followed by dinner at a pizza place. A "farewell" gathering of sorts. Their last day at school will be Wednesday.
We'll be going to Phx for turkey day, and the boys will leave from there with my mom, dad and sister and spend the following week with them while Dom and I finish packing and cleaning.
I can't believe it's already here, I'm so not ready to move!
Good morning! I am going to try once again to get ready to go see my mom. We were suppose to leave this morning, but things have changed. Yesterday had lots go wrong, and dh is really sick. So the new plan is for him to drive me to meet my mom near Dayton (hello, Leah) and then we will go to my mom's house with her. He will come for Thanksgiving as planned. We were suppose to go see his family this weekend before meeting up with his mom, but had to cancel.
So, I hope I can actually be productive today and maybe go shop a little.
Sonya, you are putting me to shame with all that you have done! YGG!
Jo, I hope the boys stay well and your moving goes smoothly.
Sara, your shopping trip sounds like so much fun. Is there anywhere that you are particularly looking forward to going? Do they have the store fronts decorated yet? I want to get up there to see it, but it's hard this time of year.
My kids do know how to blow their nose, thank goodness.
Libby, have a safe trip. I'm sorry your DH is sick. I'm glad you don't have to listen to the man cold for too long. ;)
I am actually pretty lucky. When he is sick he might comment a little about hurting or something but he mostly just goes to bed and doesn't bother anyone. I know he is really sick when he does that because he is not one to miss work. I hope I didn't just curse myself by writing this.
Beautiful sunny day I put my clothes out beautiful sunny day turns totally overcast I take my clothes in (i haven't yet) mother nature turns the sun back on.
Glen was going to take the kids to his parents' house today, and I was going to stay home and work on decluttering.
I think it's our turn to have Glen's family here for Christmas. Everyone lives nearby so no one would be staying here but I'd still have to clean, organize, prepare food, etc.
Anyway, the kids talked Glen into putting up our Christmas lights and other outside decorations so that took all morning. Now I think it's too late for them to go visit with their grandparents. Boo. Glen's parents are going to the casino (like they do every single weekend).
I did manage to shovel out Henry's pit (room) while they were all outside but I have so much more to do.
My house is destroyed again. How does that happen so often? Because we live like pigs?
my house basically stays in a destroyed state.
I pick up the same lego blocks over and over. I'm tired of them!
Kate can destroy a house in no time flat.
I worked in Jake's room one night last week. He has a toy organizer thing. I separated everything out, cars, little men, toy food, trains, etc. into their own little bins. The very next morning I hear some crashing going on in there and she was dumped every single bin in the middle of the floor. I almost cried.

phew. I'm tired now. Can I go back to bed?
show off.
I'm packing for our trip.
I have the beach stuff packed. I put it in a big tote - that way we just carry the tote in the condo and it's all there.
I have a Tuesday night basket that will go into the hotel and will only contain stuff we need for Tues night and Wed am.
I have Jake and Kate's clothes picked out for the rest of the days.
I'm working on my food list - I'm making us t-giving day dinner while there so I'm debating on taking it all from here or buying when we get there. I already have most of it so what's the harm in putting it back into grocery sacks and loading it up?
oh, and I have 2 little kids with super nasty, green runny noses
