I LOVED it... LOVED it! I really liked the Twilight movie, but it took me seeing it a second time to really get into it. New Moon seriously had me from the get go. Loved the new directors style, and felt it wasn't geared as much to a teenage crowd.
and OMG TL body. I'll be a total perve and say freaking gorgeous.
I am so glad to read this. I was NOT really into the Twilight movie. I read the books and adored them. Was disappointed with the movie. This makes me want to re-watch it and then go see this one in the theatre. Yay! But not anytime soon!

You can totally tell the style difference of the two movies, and (imo) i much prefer New Moon. It also (obviously) had a bigger budget which I am sure helped.
A couple scenes were a little tacky where I wasn't sure if the Edward special effect worked (for those that saw it, I'm thinking the water one), but really... I can't recommend it enough.
I sometimes felt Twilight movie almost tried too hard to be edgy with constant rock music, etc. This is a little more traditional music with background music, but not over-riding if that makes sense.
Kristen Stewert, imo, also does a million times better in this one. I thought she was great.

Did I mention I loved loved loved it :)
I'm so glad.
That first director was off of her nut, she was trying to make it way too artsy.
I kind of wish they would re-make Twilight with a new director.
Anyway just from the previews I could tell that this one would be more straight forward with lots of good effects.
I am so so so so so impressed with Chris Weitz. What an amazing job he did.
And the actors. Taylor Lautner was incredible. Just the perfect Jake. And Im a big Kristen Stewart fan, but I think she upped her game BIG time in this movie. Not so weird and awkward with the facial expressions.
I am so happy that the emotions I felt in the book, are in the movie for the most part. I sobbed throughout a good portion..even in parts I wasn't expecting.
So much better than Twilight. With that movie I sat there listing everything that was "wrong" with it (i.e. different from the book), this time no such thoughts.
I'm excited they're not making us wait another year or more for the next one!!
I went to see it last week and really liked it. The one co-worker of mine said she liked Twilight better. I mean this is no oscar winning movie, but I enjoyed it.
The only thing I didn't really like is i don't like how edward sparkles. I don't like it in the book and the way they did it in the movie looked silly.
I loved Jacob. I think they did a great job with the wolves.
Bella was MUCH better this time.
All over better.
Was the ending the same as the book? I listened to them all again recently and I felt like the last part of this movie was the first part of eclipse but I don't have my books here. Maybe not.

I think it was close, now I'm blanking. I know they added the fight scene/scuffle with the Volturi because they needed a little action where the book had a lot of internal dialogue.
I went with my sister a couple of weeks ago. I LOVED it. I got home the night I saw it and wanted to go back and see it again, and again, and again.... I can hardly wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it as often as I want. It was MUCH better than Twilight.

Edward asks her to marry him in New Moon, but they played with the order of the ending to make that part last instead of almost last.
I'll be the lone holdout and say I was a little bit disappointed. I just felt like they took some of the best dialogue from New Moon and watered it down/cut it out entirely (what about the whole "You're not asleep, and you're not dead..." speech?? omfg, how can you leave that out??).
I thought it was a good movie; don't get me wrong. And I didn't walk out thinking "Well, that sucked!" or anything. I also realize that book vs. movie means changes have to be made -- I liked the Volturi fight scene, and I loved that they left in the blank period of time when nothing happened...that was so powerful in the book, and I was worried they'd mangle that somehow but they didn't. There were a lot of good things about the movie, but I didn't think that (other than having more action because, hello, there WAS more action) it was necessarily better than Twilight.
I do like those wolves though. And I thought that the part with Harry Clearwater actually was great and kind of made his death feel less random than it was in the book. I just have no desire to see it again in theatres; I can wait for DVD/tv.

I have to say, I had incredibly low expectations for the movie and I was pleasantly surprised. I rarely like a movie made from a book.
I won't go back to see it again but it was an entertaining 2 hours.
Don't read this part, Edward fans, but I'm not a big Rob Pattinson fan. (Man, I'm glad Jen can't reach me from here).

The only thing I wanted word for word was the conversation they had in her bedroom when they got back from Italy. :swoon
Would adding 5 more minutes to the movie really have hurt anyone?
