i say "igs-avier" but i also worked for someone named xavier and he pronounced it javier (he was columbian), so now when i see it, javier comes to mind first.

Me too (maybe a NY thing? LOL).  At first I wanted to say X-avier, but when I saw your reply, I realized I definitely say it more with a g than "ex".

yeah i was going to say "ex" too but that really doesnt capture the sound, right???

I went to a high school called Xavier.

We would say zavier but my aunts who went there 20 years before me call it x-avier.

I say it more with a g sound too and not X. Hmmm

Both ways are equally common here. I don't have a preference, and when I see it, I'm torn 50/50, on which way to say it, lol. So how's that for being zero help.

Odd one out here.

Henry went to Scouts with a kid named Xavier.

It was pronounced Hav-ee-ay.

They were Spanish.

ETA: Maybe his was spelled Javier. Idk. If not with the "H" sound, then the "egs" way.
