Not Corey, but there is a limit how many times you can print per IP address (usually twice, but sometimes they goof. The coupon boards will tell you when for sure. Like gold!).
With some of the catalina or other deals (esp. where an item ends up free, etc), you want more than 2 to make a deal work. I think in Corey's example, she bought 5 Breyer's ice cream to get the catalina deal rolling. Just in one transaction. Never mind a follow up transaction. Buying the coupons allows you the amount of coupons you need to do some serious couponing :)
With a good catalina deal, it completely pays for itself.
i buy coupons b/c paper and especially ink cost way more. my store is picky that they be printed in full color to display the yellow security dots, which takes a ton of ink. plus, internet sites only let you print 2 per item and i never want just 2 of anything. :)
hth.
oh, and most stores won't take any internet coupons that are for a free item, worth more than $5 or a buy 1 get 1 free item.
oh, and another thing. interent q's almost always say do not double on them and since my store doubles q's, un-doubled ones don't appeal to me much:)

this is probably a stupid question but where do you buy them from?
Okay, I SO need some more help. You know I NEVER knew you could use more than one of the same coupon per order. DOI. So, it's one coupon per item, right?
Anyway, I am realizing that in order to *really* do this I am going to need to order coupons, get the newspaper, etc. Soooo, Corey - can you break it down for me - like a timeline of how you do it. It takes time to get the coupons in the mail, right? When do you order them? Do you have the ad before it starts?
Ugh. I get how it works for the most part I'm just trying to figure out a system for myself to really make the time I am putting in totally worth it. I went to albertsons this weekend and had coupons but realized I needed about 3x more but to print those on the computer just didn't seem worth it. I paid $30, saved $40 and got $15 back so it's not like it wasn't a good deal, it was just a "normal" good deal, kwim?
I know it will take some time but I totally want to do this!

i'm really interested to hear corey's timeline too.
juni, i can tell you that afullcup dot com has the ad up for my store about 4 days before it starts (thursday for a sunday start). if i order thursday night, they usually ship them out friday and i get them monday or tuesday.
for me, i'm trying to order coupons that make stuff almost free. like this week, my store has birds eye steamer veggies for $1. the coupon is $1/2 makes them 50c, but they cost 15c each plus shipping. so to me, that deal is not worth it.
a few weeks ago, i was able to order 50c/1 coupons for 8c each. when they doubled in the store, it made the veggies free, so that was TOTALLY worth it to me.
waiting to hear corey's method so i can do this better.
nothing special. i can usually find the ad somewhere on sunday or monday.
i carefully go through it and compare what's on sale to what's in my binder.
i order many coupons before it is on sale b/c once you have done this awhile you get a feel for how often things go on sale, when they do, and for how much. keep in my what i pointed out about how things go on sale in a seasonal pattern in that other thread--baking chips during the holidays, marinades before 4th of july, etc.
then i order ones for what i don't have or don't have enough of.
i usually order them by monday and get them thursday--the sale starts friday.
