It's morning, just not a good one!

We do have a parent conference once per semester.  I think in December this time around??

So voters overturned gay marriage by 47-53 last night.

I won't turn chat into a hot topic.

I am just dreading today and imagining my students, co-workers, boss, and friends who were just told byh the voting majority that we reject your right to have the same rights as a heterosexual married couple.  Domestic partnership rights are not the same.

/hot topic.  I'm not into a debate... I'm just really torn up for the conversations and consoling I will be doing today.

gm girls.

I think one of Hannah's schools does parent/teacher conferences. I know they do progress reports (the other school doesn't do either one) which I'll appreciate deeply. We're having a hard time figuring out what we are going to do in the next few months.

We're hoping to move, and we're kind of going back and forth on where we want to go - but it all hinges on a job prospect for Joe. It's stressful because we're trying to make a 12 year commitment to a school system for Hannah somewhere we still like.

I'm hoping you find a comfortable solution that involves huge $$$ for Joe.

Yes, our pre-k does parnt-teacher conferences. We don't have report cards for them, it's more of a touching base to see where they stand academically and socially and to bring up possible foreseeable issues. It's also a good time to discuss physical developement.

YAY! for our school district---even though it failed to pass in the previous election, the school bond to build a 3rd middle school passed yesterday! Our district is currently 300-500 students above capacity so this is GREAT! The new middle school is proposed to be built on the other side of town and will be open for the 2011/2012 school year and will help get the class sizes back down to a reasonable number of kids.smile

Fingers crossed for all that need it.

Jen I love your facebook status and well :(

Lucas is in the public school system but the elemetary schools do trimesters so we won't have our first conference for a little while. His conference consists of like a ton of people though - his head teacher, his OT, the principal, the nurse, the secretary that does all the note taking and one other admin. With IEP's they make sure nothing is possibly missed LOL.

I do have my conference for Travis on the 19th, sooooooooooooooo not looking forward to that.

Good morning.

Last year we didn't have conferences, but I am pretty sure we do this year.  I guess I don't worry about it since we all can talk to the teachers almost at any time.

Sappy I hope your lead turns out to be exactly what you are looking for.

Jenn, I am sorry you are feeling down.  I think there will be some big lawsuits coming from it.

Leah, I hope you and Joe figure out where it is you want to be, and then get to be there.

I do that all the time : bag

I ate my way through Halloween because WW was over and I didn't think I was doing another 12 weeks.  Monday I got talked into it.  Weigh in is going to suck arse today.  Dreading it so much.  Travis says I'm just playing strategy and bulking up so I have a dramatic loss next week.  I think he was trying to be sweet.  I think.
