I'm fairly certain once a little boy is bitten with the Cars bug they don't outgrow it!!!
At least that is the case in my house - they are not his everything anymore but they are very important!!!
Dorian - how's Cole feel about his Cars cars now? I know he got a TON of them (I know b/c I had Cars envy last year looking at his line up )
ETA: As the mom of a Cars obsessed kid - had this happened to you last year when they were still being stocked in the stores YOU would have been obsessed looking for ones you hadn't already purchased!! A couple of us daycare moms used to discuss where we found who . . . it really was ridiculous!

ok, good to know. i guess it's worth the investment then if he's going to stick with it!
i have $80 worth of cars in my disney.com cart! ahhhh!
I used to try to keep track of the amount of $$$ I'd spent on those things - They were probably close to $3.50 this time last year and I know we have at least 25 of just the little diecast cars. Now the semis/haulers are on my Jake's radar. He has 2 of those and I think they are over $10 each!
My Jake's room is done in Cars - he has the big posters framed on his wall.

aww, that is so cute! i want to get jake some of the removable cars decals for his walls - i saw them at target last week and i think they'll be another xmas gift.
i know the semis you are talking about. target had them on sale a few weeks ago for $8.50 each which i thought was pretty good.
my jake's favorite is frank the combine and that is IMPOSSIBLE to find. i'm going to drop a pretty penny on that one. :sigh:
he also needs a storage something or other. we just have way too many random cars floating around now.

I completely agree with Kris. Ethan has gone through many other phases but he always comes back to the cars.
But I just got your package packed up today it will be going out in the next few days with the Semi I showed you and I went ahead and included the tractor tippin' thing as the boys rarely play with it. You can package those up as gifts! ;)
my boys still love them and play with them all the time
I didn't even think to check the Disney site (thanks, April!), I've been looking for the diecast tractors. They would go NUTS over the diecast Frank, but geesh, 20 bucks! And with my guys we need to buy 2 of everything or all hell breaks loose.

tysm sara! that is sooo sweet of you!!!
jolynn, not that it makes a huge difference ($20 is $20), but from what i read, diecast frank is oversized - not the size of the normal cars and that contributes to the price difference.
Braydon's 6 and still plays with all of his often. A great investment IMO. We have pretty much every one of them known to man. I think I like them as much as he does.

Raven loves Cars. Can't wait for the new movie.
SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH!
what you say? A new movie??????????
I'm gonna have to check Kmart out for the haulers. I never go to Kmart. Never.
Kris - yeah it is a new movie. When were at Disney World back in May the guy told me about it when we were standing in line to get pictures with Lightening and Mater.
My kids do not have many of the diecast I might have to find a few of their favorites. They play with the actual cars, cars but the semi hauler that we have had for 3 years is going to be Jake's new love because my boys never touch it anymore..lol
Cars 2: World Grand Prix - It's not just life but the entire world that's a highway in this somewhat surprising project marking Pixar's third sequel and first outside the Toy Story universe. Brad Lewis will direct this follow-up to the 2006 blockbuster, which finds hotshot race car Lighting McQueen and rusty, trusty pal Mater going overseas to compete in a major race. This is scheduled to reach theaters on June 24, 2011. Leading up to then, Pixar has been producing a series of animated shorts starring Mater and friends, for Disney Channel airings and pre-feature theatrical screenings. Upon the passing of Paul Newman, it was revealed that the screen legend hadn't recorded dialogue for this sequel, leaving the presence of Doc Hudson in question. Domain names registered in the summer of 2009 seemed to confirm the subtitle World Grand Prix corresponding to the vague synopses we've thus far gotten.
