I loaded Mason up with vitamin C and D, only let him have 1 piece of Halloween candy over the weekend, had him wash his hands a million times, and he still got sick.  He didn't sleep well Saturday night (couldn't you just kill the person who decided that Halloween night would be Daylight Savings Time this year??), and had a cough yesterday, which is still there despite a full 12 hours' sleep last night plus a 3-hour nap yesterday.  Fortunately he doesn't have any other symptoms, but I'm keeping him home from school.

So H1N1, colds, nondescript viruses - who else is sick today?  :(

I am so sorry Mason is sick. Just think how much worse he would be if you didn't do all that prep work, ya know? I am not going to say my boys are not sick because that would jinx us. But, they have been sick for the last couple of week. Hugs to all those sick babies! I hate it. (And I am COMPLETELY) out of sick time so my boys better stay well, LOL.

I am crossing all crossables that we stay healthy. We have a trip planned this weekend.

We are all healthy, but returning from the weekend we have a TON of kids sick now.

I hope Mason feels better.

:waves

Hannah was hella congested all last week, getting progressively worse towards the end of the week where she wasn't sleeping, and eventually leading into a coughing spell bad enough to make her puke, and snagged a low grade fever. She sounded really good last night until about 5 this morning, and when she got up for the day, she was back to having "sick eyes", and congestion, gunky nasty nose, and the whole niner.

I'm pretty much over it.

Lucas was "sick" last week.

Got sent home from school with a cough and 99 fever. He had to stay home Wednesday and was fine but mushy, I kept him home Thursday and he was totally fine besides the cough. He went to school Friday and they didn't even mention his cough in his note.

He still has a bit of a cough but it is really occasional so I am calling him fine for right now. H1N1 is running through our school system like crazy so I am keeping my fingers crossed that this little cold is all I will have to deal with.

Sonya you are too funny!

We have so far managed to stay healthy even despite the fact that my DH tested positive for regular influenza last week.  I'm really hoping that my thorough and constant cleaning has killed all bugs in this house and that we can manage to avoid it all this winter.

Present. Hannah is fighing off what I hope is the end of h1n1, We have had some good moments where I think it's really the end then her fever goes back up and she looks like crap, sorry I mean that in the nicest way possible but she loooks horrible. This morning she is cool so far, the fever has been spiking in the afternoon for whatever reason? The cough is nasty but all in all I have to say she has to be on the mend. Bryson did not catch the flu as far as I can tell (he had tamiflu too) but he's been fighting off an ear infection and a sinus infection and seems ok most of the time. I sure hope that since we are all going through this now maybe the rest of the winter will be uneventful! I really hope everyone elses kids feel better quickly!

I'm bringing in Tristen today for a liekly ear infection.  I've tried to wait it out to see if it would clear on its own to avoid the cess pool of a doctors office, but the babysitter called and he is pulling at his ear and is crankier than normal.  At this point, I figure he is as likely to catch something on this campus as the doctors anyhow.

The boys both had low grade fevers last week, but those cleared up afterabout 3 days.  Just enough to keep Koda out of school, but not enough to do much of anything about, kwim?

I suspect my students are going to get pretty sick over the next week after all the halloween festivities.  Not a lot of sanitizing the funnels during those halloween parties.

Well, you already know my answer, lol.

Anna developed an ear infection (we caught it before it turned into a double, but the doc at nighttime peds said the other was on its way) after getting over the flu. So she is feeling ok, but she has that going on, plus still hanging onto a cough.

Kate is sick again. She was doing really well, and even though she still had a lingering cough and runny nose, I thought she was over all of this. Now she came home from school today and her temp was up again. She felt so bad that she fell down and wacked her nose, which started bleeding. :( I am worried about her. She just isn't getting better as fast as I would hope. If this keeps up, it will be back to the doc for her. Blah.

The director at our preschool's son got sick too, and from talking with her, I think her son may have started the whole chain that went through his and Anna's class. He got the vax on Thursday, then got sick over the weekend, and so did half of the class (not this past weekend-the weekend before). He also got his dad sick. So yet another who got sick from the vax (his case was mild though-but he has asthma and developed a slight case of pneumonia from getting the flu).

It wasn't that bad dealing with the flu, IMO (I have dealt with far worse than this with them just having stomach bugs), but this thing is hanging on like nobody's business!!

This is not meant to cause a debate or anything. I am just passing on findings here.

We have had families that had a child with the H1N1 (confirmed) weeks and a half went by and no one got sick. Thought they were in the clear because they were exposed and no illness. Not the case - a week and a half later other members in same family came down with it. This family had been tested and on tamaflu.

Just wanted to let people know in case you or another get ill and think that it cannot be that. Just be on the safe side and be seen.

Oh man!  That stinks.  I have heard though that you can be contagious longer than you think.  This makes me all the more glad we all got it.  I know some other families that have been dealing with it, but not everyone got sick.  Yikes.

The claims are too that it grows weaker as it passes to each family member. Not sure on the truth.

Interesting.

I do know this-Bill was the last of us to get it, and he had a pretty rough case.  Anna got it first (and her case was pretty mild), then I did (mine was very mild), then Kate (hers has been the worst) and then Bill (he had it pretty bad too).

I don't think that anyone knows the truth about any of this, I really don't.
