My Grandpa (Dad's side) has cancer and was just given 2 months to live. My Dad's side of the family all lives in Cali and we live in GA. Thank goodness my Dad and Mom already have plane tickets to go to Cali next week for a week (my Dad's HS reunion) That is such a blessing in itself. I am wishing so badly that I had money to go with them right now.
My Dad has just been SO SAD lately. I know it must be so hard to be away from his family right now, espcially since my parents take care of my Grandma (Mom's side) full time. I think he feels guilty for not being able to take care of his parents like they do for my Mom's.
Anyway, everyone could use a ton of prayers right now. My Mom's sister is coming to stay with my Grandma while my parents are gone for a week and a neighbor and I'll be helping take care of her. She is completely disabled. So I know my parents will be worrying about everything going on at home on top of everything in Cali.
I agree with Jenn-have you looked into airline tickets? Do you think you could sign up for fare alerts or anything and see if any good deals come up quickly? IHNI how the fares are right now, let alone in your area.
