what are you guys making all week? i'm going to the supermarket tomorrow. hoping to get some healthy stuff into these little bodies post-halloween. ideas?
we will be gone until sunday eve but for the next week, i am planning on:
monday: spaghetti, salad and bread Tues: pork chops (I just put them in a fry pan - put sugar on them to brown them and then fill up the pan w/ water and let them simmer like an hour or more until they are tender) and probably a baked potato Wed: hamburgers, baked beans (I use reg. pork n beans w/ mustard, brown sugar and let them simmer for about 40 minutes) Thurs: homemade pizza Friday: (since it will just be me and ivy home, i don't have anything planned.)
i am working on my grocery list now. not sure what we will be having each night as i just like to have items on hand.
i know sunday is soup day so we will either have chili or veggie soup.
and i am buying stuff for... lasagna spaghetti (always keep that stuff on hand) chicken breast tacos beef and noodles
and of course i always keep chicken nuggets, fish sticks and a digorino on hand for a quick dinner.
then we always usually have a veggie and fruit with whatever we have.
can you tell me what "beef and noodles" is?
is that just like chopped meat mixed with noodles? (sorry i'm so oblivious...)
I'm laughing because my neighbors always make this and the first time I was like WTF too? It's definitely not a NY thing. But it's exactly what Tammy described.
I so need to start planning meals for the week again... I am SO bad about doing that now and usually end up running to the store several days out of the week. I'm just so burnt out on grocery shopping and meal planning! I've been doing it for 8 years now. DH is never any help. When I ask him to suggest things for dinner he says "whatever" and Lucas says "Happy Donalds" (McDonald's) I'll be watching this like a hawk....

there are sooo many things that MSers mention as meal options and i'm like ??? -- i know i'm sort of oblivious to a lot of foods, but i also think that a lot of the stuff is just not well known in this area- glad you didnt know about beef and noodles either!!

yup, just peel and cube the s.p's into one inch chunks. drizzle with olive oil and maple syrup (i put more than a drizzle ;)
350 for 1hr 15 min, toss half way through.
you can put onion in there if you want too.
you can also put in split chicken breast to make it a full meal (it's really good with the syrup on top).
