When does your first Christmas decoration go up?

Be honest ;)

Is it a process?  Or do you decorate simply?  Or not at all?

When do you start feeling Christmas-y?

I usually start decorating the first weekend in Dec.

I'd probably do it sooner but that's just about the perfect amount of time for the tree to stay alive.

I don't go nuts, just some stuff here or there around the house and the tree.

Ideally, the day after Thanksgiving. But sometimes I sneak something out the week before. (Wooden sayings and stuff like that)

But, I usually end up getting frustrated with the clutter a week before Christmas, and the tree ends up coming down the day after Christmas is over, lmao. I look forward to it all year, then the novelty wears off. We don't have many decorations, as our place is tiny and cluttered enough.

I decorate the door, stair railing, and the tree. I desperately have wanted a Christmas village for forever, but it's not going to happen here.

Not until the first or second week of December. Our "Christmas" tends to go until the first week in January so I get sick of it if we decorate too early.

I tend to do it right after Thanksgiving because I get excited and also because I have a bit of time off from work so I am able to do it.

But seriously, I am SO ready for it to go away as soon as Christmas is over. We've never done a live tree but always want to so I don't know if we will this year. I will decorate as usual and wait on the tree if we do decide on a live one. :)

 Ditto to all of this!

I found some really cute little filler decos at the dollar store yesterday.

I looooooooove decorating for Christmas but now that we moved from the condo to the house, we definitely need A LOT more.  I may need to start stashing money away every week next year so I'm prepared LOL.

Besides the little things that are, well, disposable that I get at places like the dollar store, I only like to spend real money on the decorations I really fall in love with  iykwim.

Well..... this year because of dh being out of town and then all of us being out of town, we are putting up the Christmas decorations and tree Sunday.  redface.gif

I do admit that I love the Christmas decorating and such.  I just don't like the stress that goes with it (which is also why we are doing it now so it's not trying to squeeze it all in).  I don't do tons of decorations.  Right now what I do is kid friendly and fairly simple.  I like a wreath on my front door, a tree up, and stockings hung from the fireplace mantel.  After that, it's whatever I feel like.

If it were up to Travis we would decorate this weekend.  Seriously.

But it isn't up to him so we will wait until after we eat Thanksgiving dinner.

I do think I am going to make a paper chain with the boys after Halloween in Christmas colors with a link for every day until Christmas.  I think it will help Koda understand that Christmas isn't in two days for the next two months!

We don't go crazy, we can't, lack of space.  We have a tree, our stockings, and the boys will make lots of decorations for the walls.  When I was a kid my mom saved these with the holiday decorations and it was fun pulling out the paper santas from ten years prior

Usually the day after Thanksgiving, but a few little things will start coming out earlier. Andrew's pics. Ok, they are still out from last Christmas. But I have him in a different Christmas outfit each year, and they are really cute! LOL The snow globes will come out after Halloween, and I use the plainer stocking holders on my  bookshelves for holding other things all year long.

Usually we start the long weekend of Thanksgiving since we are both off. I like to get it up since we do all that work for such a short period. We usually put the lights up whenever the weather is decent in Nov. We do not turn them on to Dec 1 at least.

I do not think I am putting tons out this year. Mia is into everything and I rather not worry about it. We will do more of a kid friendly decor for this holiday.

Allie cannot wait for her elf to come back. She calls him Ducky and thinks he is the pipeline to Santa.

Eh. Its not me. I'm too Halloween. I do the Halloween more than I do Christmas. But I do decorate for Christmas for Colin. And just to outdo the neighbors 'cause its fun. And I like lighting up the yard. I start about the end of November. And I turn the lights on about 45% of the time b/c I always forget about them.

We always put up our decorations the weekend of Thanksgiving.  It's been a tradition in my family for years.  And it's a great way to work off all that food.
