Got my H1N1 shot
Permalink

Jack, Sarah and I stumbled upon a clinic today that had received a supply of the shots.

The line was around the corner.

I'm just bummed that Ryan wasn't with is.

He's at a chess tournament all day and my husband is going to try to get him in on the way home.

So I'll let you guys know if I croak or not. ;)

Ours just released at the end of this week. First clinics next week.

Is there a charge for you? They are offering this free for anyone in Canada who wants it.

did all 3 of you get them Kristi? They had one for Sarah? Did they say if the kids have to get a second? There is supposedly a free clinic coming to Hannah's school and it's in 2 parts 1 shot each.

Sonya my insurance covered it.

Amber, Sarah has to go back in 4 weeks for another (that I hope they have).

Jack does not have to get a second because he's 9.

And what if they don't have it?

If it's like the regular flu vaccine, (which they claim it is) the first one "primes" their system.  It's the second one that actually provides the immunity.

i bet the regular pediatrician will have the shot within 4 weeks....that's the time frame that my pedi seems to be operating around.

They didn't seem to think it would be a problem.

I'm just being a pessimist.

Kelly has a good point about the ped.

I was reading today and they're sending tons of the vaccine out within the next couple of weeks.

My ped thinks he will have them next week. I still plan to get them for my kids.

Exactly!! That's how I was with the cord blood.

I didn't want to do it for Ryan and Sarah but I would not have been able to live with myself if I did it for one and not the others and the others needed it.

Blah!
