I feel like a prude, but seriously all I saw were what seemed like hooker outfits.  especially by this company and these are for kids!!  I was really shocked at some of the tween/teen ones.

sorry.  i dont find that cute.  i find it somewhat disgusting.

I would NEVER let cecile wear an outfit like that.

maybe i am too conservative that way - i almost never buy my girls clothes in the US because i find most kids stuff, even in the popular stores like justice, too sexy.

thank goodness over here the dress style is a lot more conservative. as well the girls don't fuss with their hair or really wear makeup.  i was at timmy's highschool just this morning (dude forgot a schoolbook, ugh) and i was just remarking how happy i was that the girls at his highschool dont look like whores....

sheesh. i am dreading these days.
you guys should see our high school cheerleaders standing on the corner advertising their carwash every couple of months. it's SICK.  they are in bikini tops and short skirts holding signs and look like total prostitutes - should NOT be allowed.  you know those carwashes are attracting all the town's dirty old men. :pukinginmymouth

If I'm ever lucky enough to have a daughter, she will hate me.

No way in heck would that fly here.

Travis and I talk all the time about how hard it would be to dress a girl.  The clothes are so provocative.   This from the mouth of someone who can hardly be called conservative.  We can run to walmart and buy a pair of jean as a filler for the boys, and may of their clothes are second hand.  I don't think that could happen with the girl clothes I see.  I predict a lot of catalog shopping and LL Bean in my daughters future.

Then again, I seem to pop out boys, so maybe not an issue.

ITA. One of the moms at school has a daughter that is hmm, under 10. Can't remember exactly. She wanted to be a "sexy FBI agent." What???? She is going to be something else but I couldn't believe it. It is starting way too young and I hate that.

Jenn - I am SO with you. My girls will not be allowed to dress like that. You can totally look cute and stylish and not dress like that. Doug feels the same way - well, even more so. When we see girls or teens or whatever - TV, IRL, etc. he always says "if we have a daughter..." and I'm like, "I know. I totally know. Never!" It disgusts me.

This is why my girls are staying in a private school with a uiform, lol.

I agree the costumes are insane. Even the adult ones are all slutty.

However. they do have plenty non-slutty ones out there. So,I guess the parents just need to be the ones who select. Someone must be buying them for them to sell.

I was pretty shocked and disgusted myself when I started looking for costumes.  I am very happy that Elizabeth is still liking things that are age appropriate.  I am still trying to figure out why you need to wear panythose when you are four? confuse

First site is for adults, right? If I had the body I would dress like a slut for adult Halloween party. I don't have a problem with the second site for kids either. It's for Halloween not everyday attire.

Ugh-ITA. I have been looking at the catalogs as they have come in, and it is disgusting. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that my girls so far have WANTED to dress as characters from shows (Nemo last year, Miss Spider this year), not even as princesses or anything like that.

That said, I am sure the day will come when they want to dress in these things, and I just hope that my relationship with them is such that when I tell them I will not buy those for them, they don't go out and buy them anyway then hide it from me, like I would have done as a teen. Because I think when they get to a certain age, while you *can* forbid things, that ends up making them feel like you are being unfair and then wanting to do it anyway, kwim? But I could not buy those for them and ok them wearing that kind of trash.

Kelly, I truly thought that the bikini tops at car washes were something they did on TV, but didn't really happen. Oy.

ITA Liz, it's horrible.

SG wants to be Wonder Woman this year and the skirt is too short for my likings, so she's wearing shorts up under it, lol

they absolutely should, and i think i'll call if i see anythign like that next year.
what is really disgusting is that it's a male teacher supervising the whole thing. i'm sure nothing's "going on" but it's just a bad message all around.
