i know this isnt my thread and i know this isnt the color youre going for, but i meant to PM you that i finally struck on the right color for my kitchen - it's called richmond gray - it's a great olivey grayish green and i LOVE it. :) if youre ever looking for that kind of color.

i might redo the DR in that color too (lord help me).

Hi Liz,

The bedroom (and den) we painted Wedgewood Grey from Benjamin Moore (the aura paint).

It is definitely more blue than grey and looks way better in person than it does in pictures. I can't believe how different. It is gorgeous in person. Very rich looking and calm and soothing. I still love it.

You're looking at it, lol.

I had no idea so they never got curtained.

I was tossing around a blind that would essentially go away during the day. I'd have loved to have really warm panels to keep the room warm in the winter. But it never happened!

oooh...I would love to see a picture!

for our kitchen I am thinking of a light bluish/grey - almost silver.  I was also thinking of it for the master bathroom (the one that we are in the process of remodeling).  the small part is the French Grey but I don't think I want to carry it into the bigger part.  I also need to think of the adjoining room.

Btw, we are going to go ahead and see if we can just purchase the cabinets instead of painting.  We looked at Lowes and the prices were really reasonable.  I think they started at like $3000 for a 10x10 kitchen (not including labor or counters).

you guys bought unstained cabinets, right?  what was the price difference between doing that and buying them already finished?

honestly, it was a HUGE price difference from that.  i think we got all our cabs (solid maple i think) for about $400.  yes, unstained, but they were custom sized and everything.  we ran the risk and ordered them online - couldnt be happier. i'll find out the site for you.  we have 22 cabinet doors of varying sizes and 3 drawers.
here's a pic of richmond gray. i love it so much.
it's perfect for the lighting in that room.
tonight i'm repainting that door to match the cabinets, and the doorframe.
we are replacing that light fixture this weekend and putting up switchplates.
then i'm just debating whether to carry this color through the DR.
i'm ordering plain sheer curtains (I THINK???) for the DR, but leaving the kitchen window bare (i love the window plain).  i am getting an offwhite roman shade for the kitchen door this weekend probably.
my new mission is to find new DR chairs....ug.....

I really like this color....I actually like it better than the other too.  I would definitely carry it to the dining room.  What light fixture are you thinking of getting?

and that is a GREAT price on your cabinets!  Here are the ones we are considering - they are similar to the ones Lowes had (not the actual ones).  and the other picture are colors that I like, but I don't know the names.   wdyt?

I don't  know too much (we were just browsing and didn't talk to a salesperson) but they had a price chart where they had a standard kitchen starting at around $3000-4000 and then they went up with the more custom features you added.  They also listed installation and it was around $1000.

what is the company you got your cabinets from....that is an insanely good price!
