Please tell your sister THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Raymond has been behind and still doesnt talk.  But as I was putting him to bed tonight he stopped at his door  that has a Mickey mouse clubhouse Parking only sign. He pointed to and identified L P O and Y. Weve only been watching the letters dvds 3 or 4 days now.

I almost cried I was so excited.

That is wonderful! How old is he? I was just watching videos of Gavin today where is was the same age Owen is now. (So about 2 1/2). It is such a good thing Gavin was first because otherwise I would have been so worried. He was barely talking. BARELY. For dog he was saying "do-do" and you couldn't understand anything he was saying. It was such a huge different from Owen.

All this to say, don't be quick to consider him behind, it's so hard when our kids learn things at difference paces. But, it is still awesome that he is picking out letters. The understanding of things is what the doc really stressed when Gavin wasn't saying much.

That's awesome Tracy!!! I'll tell her.

She did a study with like 20 kids before she released the videos and the ones that weren't talking yet could still identify letters by pointing.

They've got a lot going on up there, some of them just take a while longer to tell us.

hes almost 20 months old. Jenn, for the understanding of things he really doesnt. I cant tell him to go get his shoes or anything like that and have him do it. He wont point to a dog or a bird in a book. I guess he might not be behind, but the speech therapist and our ped sent us to early intervention and we have an appt. nov 25th with them to say if they think he needs help in any areas.

Don't get me wrong - early intervention is great - but I know how much mommy worry eats away at us! Let us know how the appointment goes!
