Bill is an american cheese snob.  He only wants deli american.  I used to buy only the packaged-but will admit the deli is better. (though I personally don't like American, so I buy other things for myself.)

american is not my favorite, but I hate the processed cheese like kraft singles, etc.

I ususally only buy sliced deli. If I do I like Sharp cheese.

I don't eat cheese. But for everyone else, I buy the packaged, sliced Colby-Jack.

I posted other, meaning all, lol.

We are cheese ho-ers. I don't personally like American, but Joe and Hannah do, so I buy that or velveeta slices for them for girl as - Hannah calls them (grilled, lol) cheese sandwiches. But, we go through a lot of cheese slices. Almost always colby jack and cheddar (I prefer fresh deli slices, but we have been mostly using the pre-packaged stuff because it's cheaper and faster since the deli is always packed.) We go through a lot of Cheddar-Jack, Pepperjack, and Provolone, too.

Yeah, we like cheese. LMAO.

I bet customs laughs when they inspect your suitcase :) I still love a hershey bar every now and then. I think you miss what you cannot have, ya know.

Depends. Slice prepacked american for grilled cheese. Blocks or colby jack for Raven. Sliced deli for cold sandwiches. Shredded mozz, parm and cheddar for everything else. I always have a lot of cheese on hand.

Dumb question - Does white american really taste that different? What is it comparable to?

those that like white american, do you not like stronger tasting cheeses?

I rarely get american cheese so I just voted never. Sometimes I do when I go on an uber kick to try and lower calories but honestly I don't like it. We are a cheddar cheese and colby jack cheese kind of family. I do love pepperjack on sandwiches though.

I think it tastes totally different. I do like a lot of sharp cheese so IDK.

Go to the deli and ask to taste a slice, then order something else if you dont like it LOL

white american is much creamier to me than yellow.

it used to be hard to find outside of the east coast, but now i think you can find it pretty much everywhere.

also, where i live, when you order american at the deli counter, they automatically give you white unless you ask for yellow.  idt it's that way everywhere, right?

I buy the FF Kraft singles to keep in the house, but a couple of times a month, I'll get the deli sliced cheese too.

They always give me yellow.  Maybe I'll ask for white next time to switch it up a bit LOL.

Here they ask you if you don't specify.  And if you order from the kiosk to pick up when you are done shopping, it asks it you want yellow or white.

IDT I have ever done a side by side tasting, but Bill says they are exactly the same. (but Bill eats pretty much anything, so IDK that his taste buds are supa picky, lmao)
